Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

*GREEDY MANAGER!* Ordered big meal special Saturday. That night I found a hair in my fried shrimp. I thought maybe it was mine, could have been an eyelash. The next day I found another one and realized it definitely wasn't mine. I immediately called the...restaurant asking to speak to the manager. The lady who answered the phone said the manager wasn't there and didn't speak english well. After asking and telling her I only wanted to speak to the manager about the hairs, I left my number and got a call back. Her english was decent enough, no surprise. I explained what happened and that I wanted to return all the leftover food for a full refund. I explained after finding a hair twice, my family felt uncomfortable eating there and I didnt want free food later. She keep saying no, that we messed up an online order and she tried to help my me. I told her charge me for the two egg rolls because my daughters didnt know the online eggroll wasn't veggie, you had to ask. I asked her to charge my two orders of egg rolls, $4.95 each, and minus it from my total of $45.26. The manager keep saying she did me a favor, she tried to help me, and could only refund the shrimp fried rice. I told her it was her responsibility as the manger to take care of the customer and providing excellence service is not a favor, it's an obligation. I told her if they had hairs in one thing, I don't trust then enough to eat anything from their. The food was taken back, five or six boxes, about 2/3. She said the fried rice wasn't returned which it was. She refused to refund anything and said hair in the food was not that bad. She argued with me quietly so other customers wouldn't hear about the hair in the food. Everything was left behind because she keep arguing and being rude. No money was returned. That was my first time eating there after I saw the good reviews. I'll never recommend this place or eat there again. I don't like giving bad reviews or any only it warrants it. She was a bad manager and kept acting like she was doing me a hair. I felt like vomiting after I thought of the rice being cooked with hairs in it and being served.More

I’m posting this in hopes the owners will take notice. I’ve visited this restaurant more than 10 times, and things seem to be getting lazy. Dishes that should be very different, all seem to have the same over cooked large broccoli flowerets, carrots, zucchini, celery...etc.. The Mongolian beef had very little beef and all veggies? Each dish seems to use chicken stock and thicker such as corn starch. I love the won ton soup. I also like that they separate noodles in to-go chow main, because it does show they care about food quality. Please work on your sauces and separate flavors again!More

Hong Kong Restaurant is one of my favorites. We eat there weekly. The food is always sizzling hot, fresh and always delicious. The prices are extremely reasonable.

I used to eat here with my parents way back in the '80s, but don't get to Hanford much so my husband and I were not sure what we could expect after all these years. Thank goodness we gave it a try, because the food...was even better than I remembered it. We got one of the family dinners for 2 and besides being great, the portions were generous and the service was fast and courteous. I am not usually a fan of egg rolls, but theirs are really tasty. Everything else was also fresh, and cooked perfectly. My only disappointment was the fried rice which was bland and somewhat sticky. We will be back!More

Take out not recommended. Take out containers have two small and two large sections. Very small portions for entrees and rice (about half a cup each) and twice the amount for items (2 cups volume) like hard noodles and bean sprouts. Food is tasty and...good portions for eating in. Disappointed in amount of food given for take out portions.More

This used to be my go to restaurant for Chinese Food. It seems they've changed management or cooks however, and it's not nearly as good as it used to be. Their fried rice in particular is really bad now, and when we told the waiter,...he just said, yeah, that's what everybody says, but they won't change it.More

Everyone has their favorite Chinese restaurant in town! I prefer Hong Kong Chop Suey over other Chinese restaurants. I have never had bad service there! The food is quality prepared and delicious. If you haven't been yet I would encourage you to try this restaurant!

Very good food. We always order for take out. Two dinners are enough to feed three or even four and still have some leftovers. Reasonable prices, friendly service.

Yay! Chinese food now, and two days left-overs! The best chow mein, orange flavored beef, broccoli chicken and more. And for fun have anything "sizzling". Everything on the menu is wonderful. The best part about Hong Kong is the freshness of it's vegetables which are...never overcooked, but cooked to perfection.More

What struck me about the Hong Kong Chop Suey were the vegetables. Lots and lots of fresh, elegantly cut vegies. I’ve eaten in the restaurant once, and had a large to-go order. From the Hong King Chow Mein to Kung Pao Chicken and several other...dishes, the quality and flavor was great and no oil running through the food. I was impressed with the care taken with the to-go order of Chow Mein. They boxed the noodles separately so they would not get soggy. I’ve never had a Chinese restaurant take that much care before. Nice touch!More

This quaint landmark has been in business for 42 years. The place is clean and has an extensive menu. The waitress was efficient and pleasant. I ordered a combination plate and everything was delicious. Pork Chow Mein for husband. Leftovers the following day, all for...less than $20. We will be back.More
