My wife and I went into the cafe to have dinner. I ordered potato skins my wife ordered ribs. The food was extremely bland and inedible. The potato skins were greasy and had no flavor, the ribs sauce was awful and the ribs themselves had zero flavor. My wife meal came with a baked potato and vegetables. Soggy vegetables the... More

Period. And the meatloaf and fried chicken is also excellent. Expensive but not compared to the local gasoline. Show up with a full tank.

On a week's cycling trip (San Diego Christmas Ride 2016), while my husband rode, I saw the sights and EVERYONE said - Go to Julian and get apple pie. So that's what I did - even though it had been snowing and was bitterly cold - I headed up there. Not knowing where to get pie, I found a parking... More

We went here for dinner out last night in Julian, and were not disappointed. Hearty comfort food abounded! Most importantly, however, we had learned our lesson and called ahead for seating so we had a minimal wait. While neither my wife and I are apple pie fans, we did enjoy the one slice that we all shared.

We stopped by for their country fried chicken dinner. The food was great, the service was good, but the room is a little crowded.

When we walked by this place it smelled wonderful. So we decided to eat there and after a 25 min wait we were seated. The place inside was really small. The food was disappointing none of us finished our food. We did take the potatoes back to the cabin with us and made a chowder out of them but the... More

My wife and I visited the wonderful town of Julian around Thanksgiving. We chose the Julian Café & Bakery based on its excellent reviews in Tripadvisor. I ordered coffee and my wife ordered ice tea to drink. I ordered the hand-breaded fish and chips with a side salad and my wife had the French-dip. The drinks, food and service were... More

The employees make up for the watery eggs, spicy gravy, and overall food I would not eat again. Even the biscuits were dry.
