We went here for dinner out last night in Julian, and were not disappointed. Hearty comfort food abounded! Most importantly, however, we had learned our lesson and called ahead for seating so we had a minimal wait. While neither my wife and I are apple pie fans, we did enjoy the one slice that we all shared.

We stopped by for their country fried chicken dinner. The food was great, the service was good, but the room is a little crowded.

When we walked by this place it smelled wonderful. So we decided to eat there and after a 25 min wait we were seated. The place inside was really small. The food was disappointing none of us finished our food. We did take the potatoes back to the cabin with us and made a chowder out of them but the... More

My wife and I visited the wonderful town of Julian around Thanksgiving. We chose the Julian Café & Bakery based on its excellent reviews in Tripadvisor. I ordered coffee and my wife ordered ice tea to drink. I ordered the hand-breaded fish and chips with a side salad and my wife had the French-dip. The drinks, food and service were... More

The employees make up for the watery eggs, spicy gravy, and overall food I would not eat again. Even the biscuits were dry.

Had prime rib & it was pretty good & affordable. My husband had a chicken pie & left nothing on the plate. Very busy Friday night in town but only waited 5 minutes. Good service.

We were in Julian for the Christmas festival and the weather was freezing cold. There was a line to get in, but we had read about the pie and so we ordered a piece from their outdoor window. We finally got it, along with the hot apple cider served with cream and caramel. What a treat! Very fresh and delicious.

We ordered dessert here and both the apple crumb pie and the Apple boysenberry crumb pie were wonderful. The coffee was perfect and our waitress was spot on and attentive. She was cheerful and very efficient.

Julian Cafe has just about anything to accommodate a diverse crowd with varying tastes for breakfast lunch and dinner. The signature chicken pot pie turnover and tortilla soup were delicious.
