Stopped at Bara Bara for happy hour after walking Old Town on a hot weekday. Happy hour started at four. Good chips, bean dip and salsa along with good food choices. Great patio! Worth a stop.

We were in the old town of San Diego and we were looking for some mexican food. All the places there were really crowded, but here after 10 minutes we were seated. The food was amazing. I've tried the Fajita Parrillada and it was so tasty.

Nice way to complete a day of touring Old Town. I stopped by during happy hour. Tacos and select drinks were discounted. I had the traditional chicken and pork tacos. I only had 2 but they were filling. The staff were friendly. I sat outside facing the courtyard of Old Town. The food was average and good.

We thought that we might get an authentic meal here, bur it would seem it was a vain hope. The food had little or no spice, it looked like a dog's dinner on the plate and one of my tacos was burnt to a cinder. Beer was tasteless. The only saving grace was our charming waitress, although we had to... More

Loved the thick Chips, Salsa and black bean dip. Ordered the carnitas taco plate, good, not great, with the drink was only $10. Others got the chicken Tostada or chicken taco. Plates come with rice and beans. Great friendly service, especially since we were a large group. Loved the outdoor patio since the weather was warm.

Excellent & accommodating. I had swordfish tacos - marinated & lots of spicy peppers. Not my thing but out of the world & no heartburn. Partner had Pisoli and not much hominy but loved it. Fresh chips, fresh guacamole. Cali our dog was happy to stop walking!!!

If you are in the historic old town area, you better have an appetite for Mexican/Tex-Mex food. After all, that's why you are here. Once you've wandered around all of the souvenir and gift shops, you will surely be in the mood for a Margarita and/or some Mexican food. There are at least 3-4 Mexican restaurants. Bara Bara advertizes the... More
