We go to Chen's every friday we are in town. We have been going for 13 years. It is fabulous. Every dish is perfect and no skimping like PF Change. The wait staff is efficient and the dishes come out quickly from the kitchen. We usually order Chen's Lo men, aromatic fish, orange peel beef, kung pao chicken and walnut... More

A couple of seasons ago a friend and I had occasion to go to dinner at several restaurants around Long beach...Chen's became our favorite because of it's lack of pretention and also it's authentic quality food!

Excellent food, service, value for past twenty years. Get one of the dinner combos and split it with a few friends, excellent. Sweet and sour is great, Egg Foo Yung, Crispy Spicey Chicken, soups are incredible.

Visiting from out of town and staying on the Queen Mary we found this restaurant. Ken our waiter was fabulous. Food was great portions and we enjoyed the family style won ton soup. Great place for a big group to eat.

If you're expecting PF Chang or Pickup Stix, this is not the place for you. Service is sub par which is typical of real Asian restaurants. If you go to an Asian restaurant and the waiter is nice, beware! Take PF Chang for example. This not real Chinese food. PF stands for Peter Fleming. Recognize the steak house? Yes it's... More

Called for takeout at 4:10. Asked for it to be ready at 5PM. Got there at 4:50 pm. Food sitting in window. Felt warm and was plentiful. Everything (shrimp, rice, veggies so very soggy. No flavor on anything. Black mushroom tasted funny & actually spit it out. I would not return.

Vegetarians rejoice! Start with the mu shu and stay for the orange tofu, bean curd with green beans, and order everything else to eat tomorrow. Everything here is good - lo mein, chow mein, spring rolls, wonton soup. Chen's is a place I starve myself for in advance. Best Chinese in the USA, and I eat Chinese food constantly!

I had no where to really go, so stopped in here. It looks like a typical Chinese food place, the staff are friendly, but the portions are just too big. I ended up having to throw away most of it.

This place has really good food, but the stay and environment are on the low side. But you can't have high hopes when you go for authentic Chinese food.

I've eaten at Chen's both times I visited Long Beach. The prices were reasonable. A combination plate, which includes soup, and egg roll, and crab rangoon, is under $11. You can get less expensive entrees without the combo. The waiter was good about keeping our water glasses full and empty plates cleared. The dining area is clean and is able... More
