On a solo trip to Palo Alto and popped in for lunch. I am a tricky person in a Chinese restaurant - I don't like rice or noodles - but my waitress was amazing! She suggested the King Poo scallops and green beans as a side, and it was nothing short of fantastic! But do leave space for the lychee... More

Chef Chu's is a Los Altos classic! It has won tons of "Best" awards. Get a reservation if you can because its popular from the time it opens until about 9 pm. We discovered our current favorites dishes when we were at dinner with a friend who required gluten-free: The fish filets in wine sauce and basil chicken in hot... More

Very authentic Chinese food. Its always full. Parking during weekdays are tough. So go early and enjoy anything on the menu. Every one of them is a delight. My favorite is the steam fish with pepper and black bean sauce

Having read such wonderful reviews and we are in the neighborhood, we just had to go. Turned out unbeknownst to us that it was Chinese New Year! So we expected crowded and it was jammed. With amazing luck, we were seated within 5 minutes. I've never seen wait staff manage so well in such a crowded, noisy place. There's hardly... More

I've led a group for several years to Chef Chu's for a Chinese New Year's dinner. We order the Banquet Speciale, and the dinner, tax and tip are under $40/person for many courses. Attentive service, tasty food. Overall very good. Parking in an auxiliary lot.

They do a grand business in 'take-out'. Always a waiting line. Three phones to take orders... well worth it!! The Peking Duck is the best in the area. Not crazy about the sweet and sour prawns... too much batter and too little sauce. Everything is fresh and hot. Menu on the internet is a great place to start.

Excellent food, service and environment. Very popular spot. Grab a potent Mai Tai at the bar while you wait.

A silicon valley fixture. Great, uncluttered Chinese food following pretty much the same formula for (at least) the more than 30 years I have been going there. The crowds of customers and long wait times attest to its enduring popularity.Quite an extensive menu with a lot of fan favorites. On the days that they pull it off, some of the... More

This place is super famous so we had to try it out. We went there for lunch and we didn't wait too long, just 10-15 min for a table for 4. Between the 4 of us we ordered: - mongolian beef and egg fried rice with bbq pork dinner size which was enough for 2 people - curry prawns with... More
