Real interesting dishes, just not a lot to choose from. Everything was delicious but the menu is small. I actually thought the appetizers were much better than the larger dishes. Clearly better to share things here.

A friend with excellent taste recommended this for a family dinner while visiting. The menu was interesting and dishes were paired well. The service was very friendly. We tried different dishes. The albacore was good as was the scallops. Risotto and polenta also good. There...More

The Lazy Ox Canteen was one of our favorite spots in Downtown L.A. The menu was creative and tables on the heated patio provided a nice balance of calm and comfort to the more lively interior. The menu was creative and well executed. Who would...More

The Lazy Ox Canteen is an interesting restaurant near Little Tokyo with a very interesting menu. We were there on a Travel Zoo voucher so had a prix fixe meal. One of our appetizer choices was pig's ear chiccharones (sp.?), which was strips of pig's...More

There is nothing better than when a restaurant surprises you. This little spot was our first meal in LA and it was wonderful. The decor, service, wine and beer list and of course the food were all top-notch. Any time when some one asks you...More

Went with a couple of friends. The restaurant is not too large and they do have an outside patio. They do not have a full bar, but have a nice selection of beers, wines and sangria. They have a very interesting and eclectic menu choices,...More

Honestly, the best part of the evening was their almost empathic service. Don't get me wrong, the food was very good, just confusing. Shrimp fritters, chili okra and polenta. Who are these guys. Three of us took advantage of their happy hour small plates and...More

Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering
buildings, bustling streets, and industrial
warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of
cultures here with a growing influx of business
professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of
Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts,
bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly.
