Came for a business diner and needed to shout to be heard. Was excited about having deep south food for the first time. And if it's like it was here, won't be on the lookout for more. The biscuit (tasted like an English scone) with honey and butter was tasty. The oysters were returned, not fresh. My main, fried chicken... More

The place is nice, specially at night with a terrace and low lights. Food is just OK. We were really disappointed about the fried chicken, it was not crisp or with a lot of flavor. Heirloom tomato salad was nice.

With a friend visiting from Munich, I had a terrific brunch here at Willie Jane. Really comfortable, Venice Beach feel. Service was quick, friendly and helpful. I'm a fan of Southern Cooking and they do a good job of it here. We had brisket hash with eggs for brunch it was truly delicious. Plus, at brunch they have an "endless"... More

Busy, Busy Abbot Kinney. Walked the entire Blvd, and needed a drink and to get off our sore feet. What a surprise to get such an exotic and fun drink.....A mysterious addition of Hickory Smoke to the glass beforehand made this JUST the refreshment we needed. My husband loves to BBQ----But we never expected to get Hickory smoke in a... More

It was so appealing and had good vibes. Oysters had to be sent back but they accepted the return without issue. Food orders were tasty and well presented but the service was aggravation. I wanted to shove my AMX in her face and say big mistake huge mistake. Nothing worse than being ignored.

Late dinner, ubered it to Albert Kinney and after a bit of a walk trip advisor delivered us here. Quaint place, hipster cowboy meets yee-haw , staff in denim and plaid, very welcoming. Food? Brilliant, we both had the hanger steak with sides of Mac and cheese and broccolini and it was sensational, beautifully cooked, succulent and delicious. Desert was... More

Located in Venice Beach. A quaint restaurant with a great service staff. The bar mixologist was superb. Started with homemade biscuits. Disappointed that the bacon jam was $2 extra and was only a teaspoonful. Had chicken and waffles. Chicken needed more crunch and waffles needed a more creamy texture. The shrimp and grits were better but not top knotch.

My lady friend was all fired up to go there, so I was expecting quite a bit. They missed the mark. The deviled eggs were lackluster and the fried chicken wasn't much better. For my tastes, it was over-cooked. She liked her mussels and I loved the collard greens, the best I've had in LA, but the overall meal didn't... More

It did not look like much from the outside, but once you get in you find out it actually used to be a house. The driveway is made into a patio like area. the living room is the main dining room. The garage has been made into the kitchen. Very homie :-) On top of that add exceptional friendly and... More

Went on Jonathan Gold's mention. Supposed to be Southern Food. Dull interior. Weak drinks. Waitress was out of touch with how to graciously serve people. Bib lettuce salad more like soup than a salad. We ordered a "brisket" ragu, overcooked cheap ziti noodles in some sloppy gravy with a few errant diced chunks of brisket in it. FOR $23!!! Stay... Staying in Venice

Neighbourhood Profile
Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
