On a recent trip to the LA area I visited Nicola's in Woodland Hills. It was an easy walk from the Courtyard hotel. What a pleasant surprise. The place was not fancy, but very welcoming. The Chianti classico was a great start along with a basket of herbed focaccia. I had a lovely salad with feta and toasted almonds and... More

My husband and I just returned from a trip abroad and were looking for a place on our way home to grab an early dinner. We found Nicola's via google maps. It's on Ventura Blvd with a parking structure around the corner for ample parking. The menu is awesome! LOTS to choose from, including breakfast served all day. My meal... More

Four or five stars for the food, but they lose two stars for the menu and the bill. The prices on the menu fail to say half order or full order, creating confusion as what you've ordered and what the real price is. Furthermore there were some unfavorable differences between some prices on the menu and the bill. For example... More

We are regulars here. The food is reliably good. The portions are generous. Although we haven't come here for breakfast, they serve breakfast all day, and lately we've been trying breakfast items for dinner. My husband likes the scramble dishes. Last night I tried the creme brulee oatmeal. What a great idea! They put creme brulee on top of oatmeal,... More

Coming from Johnson CityTN, Tennessee , I haven't had the chance to dine at a nice locally owned (boutique) restaurant. This is the perfect definition of that. Cozy, clean and great service. The owner (John), stopped by to say hi and was incredibly attentive and welcoming . We were served immediately and our salad (house) was incredible. Then the main... More

In the past we have always had a good experience at Nicola's. Not this time. The owner wasn't present and the service and food were well below what we have come to expect. First, the person in charge claimed that the wifi was down so the reservation on open table that we made had not been received. After a brief... More

Local Italian place on the boulevard. Friendly and attentive wait staff. Large menu -- lots of choices - moderate prices. Server tried to be very helpful. Food was good. Salads large, pasta sauce only average. Good garlic bread. It's worth another visit and if good will raise to 4 stars -- but not quite there on this visit. Parking in... More

I'm a regular at Nicola's. There bruschetta is the best I've ever had. They also allow me to create my own dishes, wishes is something that I really appreciate. The restaurant is small, nothing fancy, but I'm never disappointed.
