Came here for lunch after visiting the Adamson tile house up the road over New Years 2016. Great beach views to eat outside. A treat for anyone here during winter.

Yes, the view was stunning..it should go without saying..GO AT SUNSET However, if you are fortunate enough to be immune to another beautiful beach view and are only looking for good food and ambiance then..come on anytime. The lava flow drink was delicious, I had the roasted mahi mahi (lovely) and then two of us split the house desert. Icecream,... More

We had left Las Vegas at 7.15 that morning and driven through to Hollywood Boulevard (see other posts), then down Sunset Boulevard, Rodeo Drive and on to Santa Monica. We had a 6.15pm reservation at Duke's so left Santa Monica at 4pm with a view to checking into the Malibu Beach Inn, which was only 11 miles away, get ready... More

I usually stay clear of tourist type places, but my LA friend took us here. He wanted to show us the coast and so we headed up the PCH. I was pleasantly surprised!! Service was great, food was stellar, view was divine!! Not crowded and we got a great table outside in the Barefoot Bar. My daughter and I split... More

On normal days Duke's is a great restaurant with good food and great service. On Thanksgiving which is when we visited, while the service was still pretty good (we had to ask for drink refills repeatedly), the food was served buffet style and was uninspired. Some of the food was good - the salad bar area had some unique items... More

We had just landed at LAX and we're headed to Santa Barbara for Christmas with our son. We didn't want to use the big highway so we went up the PCH. We knew we wanted to eat at Duke's as we had looked on line for a great place to eat. Driving north you need to keep an eye out... More

Went on a family trip with a baby. Waiter was great and heated up our son's purée. We had the "raw selection". Fish tacos, ceviche and sashimi. I think the fish tacos are my favorite by far. It was simply delicious. The taco itself was crunchy and most likely made on site. Fish was sooo fresh! Beware if you don't... More

We came here for a couple drinks and some tacos while on a business trip. We sat in the bar area since the restaurant is very full even around 4 pm. The views of the Pacific Ocean are amazing and the food was good as well. We only had some light snacks since we had other dinner plans. Duke's seemed... More

Four of us had a lovey dinner at Duke's Malibu this past Sunday evening. The place wasn't very busy, but the hostess had us wait 5 extra minutes so she could seat us at a window table overlooking the pacific. Steven took care of us as soon as we sat down and continued to make sure we had everything we... More

Duke's Malibu has brought the excitement of Hawaii, Waikiki, and surfing to the mainland. The spectacular oceanfront location on Pacific Coast Highway offers over 300 feet of romantic oceanfront dining and memorabilia from both Hawaii and California surfing history. The Barefoot Bar, looking south into the lights of Santa Monica, is a great spot for drinks and casual food with friends.

Staying in Malibu

Neighbourhood Profile
The Malibu coastline is like a chameleon. In some areas it resembles the French Riviera with its lush, green hillsides descending into crescent-shaped shorelines. In others, it feels 100% Southern Californian with beaches wide and flat as a football field, and often crowded with beach-goers lounging on towels and playing volleyball. Other coastlines still feel secluded, tucked under tall cliffs and dotted with stunning rock formations. In certain areas, where the ocean waves are just right, surfers can be seen bobbing in the water. Up in the mountains to the east hikers take in truly stunning views of the ocean and the sprawling Los Angeles landscape. And along Pacific Coast Highway, restaurants are filled with visitors and locals from all walks of life. Stumble into the right place at the right time, and you’ll likely encounter a celebrity.
