Cafe del Rey is a classic, which I frequented all the time in the late nighties... Now back after all those years again. We were seated at the mid section and I was suprised that being so close to the yachts there was still no open deck :-(( You can see them, but are still only inside. However, the drinks... More

Cafe Del Rey has a classy reputation. The tastes of their Thanksgiving dinner did not meet those classy expectations. The crudo appetizer of the fixed menu was promising; the soup bland. My turkey was very disappointing: dry and chewy. The prime rib of my son looked better. The desserts were tasty and sufficiently small. The red wine flights were OK.... More

Hello, We are sorry that you didn't enjoy yourselves with us on Thanksgiving! It is a difficult holiday to manage to be sure. The food has so many roots in so many different families, traditions and recipes and perhaps we played it a bit safe as not to offend anyone. As for the ambiance and noise, we had over 400... More

The last time I had dinner here I swore I would never go back because the food was not memorable but the prices were. But we were in need of a last minute table for 10. Bad sign. The food was borderline bad and the service was slow. Prices way higher than the quality offered. Place is dated.

Wonderful organic food. Fun to watch surfers while you eat. Parking is difficult, but worth driving around to find a place. We paid $8 to park in a lot nearby and it was worth the cost!

While I would love to say this is another nice review of Cafe del Rey...unfortunately it is not. You can see an occasional paddle boarder but not a surfer as we are in a marina and the waves are non existent. Also our parking is free during the day in our own lot with many spaces and it is $6... Recently hosted a reunion brunch for a group of 10 women at the Cafe Del Ray. Everyone enjoyed the menu, service, and setting. Worked with Heidi on the group reservation and had a choice of selecting the group menu ( 3 options of entree etc) or the dining room menu (selected because of many options and some people has specific... We walked in for a quick dinner in the bar. Service was good and food was quick. We had the tomato soup, a margarita pizza and a Caesar salad. All were good.

I'd heard of this restaurant through my co-workers because I know it's one of the preferred places for my boss and a few of his colleagues to meet for lunch meetings. When it came time to come up with a special meal close to the marina for our 20+ guests visiting from all over the US, we immediately thought that... More

This was probably the worst meal we've had in a long time. When our waiter, Vlad, found out that we weren't ordering drinks, he basically ignored us. I ordered the pumpkin soup on the menu, and the server brought tomato soup. When I told him I was expecting pumpkin soup, he took it back and exchanged it after saying that... More

I frequent this location and typically eat here at least once each 4-day trip. The add-on tent on the east side of the dining room is a bit depressing to sit in, so make sure you ask for the main dining room. It is not necessary to sit against the window to see the marina, so do not get hung... More
