I remembered many visits to other Islands locations with fond memories. My favorite burgers were the Blue cheese and the Hulu or Hawaian burger. We also had mai tais. The burgers were as good as I remembered, as were the steak fries. However, I thought that the drinks were not nearly as good as I remembered and had mediocre taste... More

Been here a few times and the food is always decent but when I cam with my sister and her 3 kids, you could tell that our server was really sick of us. The kids kept changing their minds which I understand could be annoying but the way he kept obviously showing his frustrations wasn't right. Horrible service

This was our second visit to Islands, having previously visited an Islands restaurant in another part of LA (its a chain). The prices are reasonable and there is a good selection of American food - its a good choice if you just want to fill yourself up. The decor and theme is Hawaiian. We shared chicken wings, a burger and... More

This is a very good burger place. There were eight of us and seven enjoyed their burgers. Me, the vegetarian, did not like the veggie burger. It didn't seem to have been made in house. It looked like the ones found in the frozen food section of the market. Nice selection of non alcoholic drinks. Check website for alcoholic drinks,... More

Traditional but ordinary American food. The bar staff are great with cocktails and the late nights are really good. Worth a visit.

Had Caesar with Chicken and Tiki Tenders (Crispy Chicken). Popped in after reading reviews and whilst no problems, didn't really have any stand-out aspects. Strawberry Daiquiri was good and the food OK but was, for us, a safe rather than a special choice of eateries as we toured round West California. In fairness and perhaps the deciding reason for 3... Feels very "aloha". The food is good and fresh. A good value for the money. Very casual and a great place for kids.

Seated in the bar area, really nice chilled out atmosphere, our server was really friendly, had american football on the TV's and draft beers on happy hour. Had chicken tenders to share and a burger each, the food was lovely, easily one of the best meals we had on holiday. Would return if we were in the area again.

This, for me, is the burger bar in Venice. Unusually the pics of the food are exactly what you get. They are really stacked and the fries are crispy, and not thin. Love this place Oh and try the Buffalo wings, very very good.

Staying in Venice

Neighbourhood Profile
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
