We stopped for lunch. I like the old fashioned atmosphere. The French onion soup is amazing and filling. My wife had the fish and chips and they were also very good and fresh. We were happy with our impromptu meal in Mendocino.

I has stopped for lunch seeing a few diners inside and went to join them seated quickly,I was then ignored for almost 10 minutes in an almost empty dining room.Service was slow and food disappointing.
The service was really good. I had the omelette special and that tasted so good. The food was served hot. The price was more than what we would normally pay for a breakfast.
Their meatloaf is something to dream about, as are their fish and chips (fresh!) breakfasts, salads, and sandwiches. Wonderfully consistent, served by a warm, personal staff. We love this restaurant.
The hotel retains the decor and charm of the 19th century but the service is definitely 21st. Outstanding and friendy staff, clean bathrooms, delicious food and wine and love the ambience.
