Have ordered from here 4-5 times, and each time disappointed. But--they are convenient, well organized and there is something for everyone. If you want great, I can't imagine this is it--but it's good enough and much better than any of the safeway/costco options.

The pizza is straight up American with good chewy crusts, but the place is a dump. It's not even retro in an ironic way, it's just an embarrassment to Menlo Park. Spruce up or get out!

Applewood is a Menlo Park tradition that always ranks tops in the Pizza category. Good crisp crust, lots of cheese, and plenty of topping options make it a winner. Our favorite is the Menlo Combo, with a Greek-style salad and a draft beer. You may find trendier flavors of pizza, but not a better pie.

The Menlo Combo is a meat lovers delight, but the sourdough crust will get you every time. Local adult sports teams frequent the place after games and it's family oriented.

Order their pizza at least once a month. It's always excellent. Good crust and cheese. Try the margarita pizza.

Don't let the drab, 70's decor fool you. This is the best pizza around (sorry Amici's). Try the #17 Los Altos. My favorite pizza and one I try to custom order when eating pizza while traveling. No one makes it as good as Applewood so far.

Perhaps it is my taste, but I was thoroughly disappointed in the pizza we had here when we finally tried it. It has been around a long time and seems to be popular so we were expecting more. The pizza was luke warm, not sizzling hot, as if it had sat around awhile. The crust was huge and doughy and... More

About 20 of went here one night. We called ahead and the restaurant had a long table prepared for us. Ordering is simple - at the counter and pay when ordering. We loved this method with so many people. The choices are excellent or you can make your own pizza (select what you want to eat on it - not... More

I am more of a thick-crust pizza person. If your preference is NY style, forget about this place. I come for the pizza and have rarely sampled any other items from them menu. (I had the lasagna once and like it). The optional salads are crisp but simple. Everyone has their own idiosyncrasies when it comes to pizza. I like... More

THe pizza is above average, a bit thick and californian, but the owners are hungarian. The tomato sauce in the pizza is especially good, get the addictive langos bread, and the goulash --- and an above average german beer collection.
