Can't recommend Fish Hopper enough. Great view over looking the water, exceptional service and delicious food. I had the 14oz New York Steak & Dungeness stuffed crab prawns with potato gratin & asparagus. Possibly the best meal I've ever had, well worth the money! Nicki our waitress was outstanding with her service.

This is a review of the walk up order service only. Fish Hopper is a large dining room but we did not enter. Just outside the main entrance they have a bar area where you can order a small menu of items to go. We ordered some bread bowls with Clam Chowder, calamari, fresh fruit cups, and drinks. All of... Had a very nice fresh fish dinner here---affordable and casual atmosphere with very good service. Perfect family dinner place on the Monterey wharf.

Despite its lower rating than Sea Harvest (see my review for a comparison), and the fact that Fish Hopper is in a location that just screams "tourist trap", I decided to go here on a local's recommendation. Glad I did, too. The seared Ahi was very good, and the accompanying roasted vegetables and rice were excellent. The deserts are a... More

My partner and I are from Australia and were travelling through Monterey tonight and stopped in at The Fish Hopper. We ordered the calamari as a shared appetiser 10/10 without a doubt. My partner had baby back ribs and prawns for main. The meat fell off the bone. He LOVED it and said it was the best meal he has... More

The Fish Hopper came highly recommended by the hotel staff where we were staying. They raved about the clam chowder, and that was all unneeded to know. So we decided to go check it out on our way to the aquarium. I went with my wife and our two year old twins for lunch and they were so incredibly kind... More

We just ate at the Fish Hopper. Now, this restaurant used to be good, but I believe it is going down hill. Pros: Ambience. Cons: 1. freezing outside, and windows were open. We had to ask to have the windows closed. 2. Waiter gave us bread and just one piece of butter. 3. Waitress rude. My husband asked her to... More

The view and service get a 5 and the food gets a 3. The "award winning clam chowder" was not my favorite, but being able to sit out on the deck for lunch and enjoy the water in November was a treat!

Great service and location. However, the food is over priced for the taste and quality. If meeting up with friends and for drink, light meal, this is still the place to go. If going for food, or with an active toddler, I rather go somewhere else.

We've been to the Fish Hopper before so we knew we were in for a treat! Even so, this trip exceeded our expectations. Upon entering the restaurant, we saw samples of some of the dishes. Although each one looked delicious, this made it much easier to decide on an entree. We were seated on the patio. What a gorgeous day!... More
