In search of seafood with an oceanside vire. The view on the balcony was wonderful-they even loaned us some very nice binoculars during our mel. The food was terrible. I orderd red clam chowder-tasteless with minimal bits of clams. Fried calamari was soggy. My husband-not usually a picky eater, ordered the fish tacos and felt they were not very good.... More

The evening ambiance is one of class and warmth; looking out over the glassy water to the lights across the bay is one of my favorite things in the world and you can do that from your dinner seat here. The food was amazing, my favorites were the Oysters rockefeller, ciopppino, and their unique spin on banana pudding. Lorinda our... More

I am down in the dumps now because my wife has just had breast cancer surgery and is undergoing chemotherapy & radiation therapy treatments. Needless to say I am depressed and went to the bar for my own therapy. I was fortunate that Rachel was my bartender and she made me the best dry martini on the rocks that I... More

Wonderful view right on the water, on a lovely sunny day. Service was good. The signature Manhattan was quite tasty. Calamari was so-so, and usually a good proxy for the rest of the menu. It was leathery, thick cut, and we didn't finish even half of it. Poke tuna tacos were very good, and the bass BLT was excellent. If... More

Wonderful and quick service, decent coffee and fairly priced breakfast food. Upscale and located within the Monterey Plaza Hotel, this place sits on the water and thus offers wonderful views of the Bay.

Schooners is my favorite Sunday lunch location in Monterey. Great outside ocean view of the Monterey Bay, great menu with Sea bass BLT being my favorite and great service from Thusita, Melissa and the whole staff. Can’t go wrong.

First they lost me reservation then when visiting before dinner they gave us a new one. Had to wait 15 minutes upon arrival for a table in the middle of the floor even though a window location had been requested and was available .we were asked if we were guests of the hotel. Different service for hotel guests. Not recommended... More

I've been enjoying lunch almost every Sunday for the past four or five years at Schooners. Part of the ritual with my long time friend is to walk from Monterey on the path and take ourselves to Schooners. The ritual continues for the most part due to the food and the Great wait staff. Thusita and Melissa make us feel... More

Service was great, food was incredible. Wish I lived here so we could eat there more often. The octopus was awesome, the crab cakes were delicious, the sole entree was so great & dessert was awesome too!
