I am a devotee of Marche moderne, and since they have closed for their move, I have been trying other restaurants for my lunches. I have not been happy at Fig and Olive or Bistango. Il Barone is a different story, I had a very nice plate (lamb chops) with superb bread choices and nice vegetables. It was a very... More

We only had 45 minutes during a conference break. We stumbled across Il Barone and had the soup of the day. Friendly efficient service. The soup was excellent!

The hotel concierge recommended this place...it was a quick walk from the hotel. A bit hard to see...we thought it was closed, but the door is on the side. The service was good, the food was very good. It is like a family Italian restaurant. I would go there again.

After our first dinner here, it was so great, we couldn't wait to come back and were again impressed. Attentive service (Franco is the best!) and we highly recommend the specials, which are phenomenal. Generous portions and fresh pastas with creative, delicious sauces. Very authentic and well worth saving room for dessert!

This was our first time here, and it won't be our last. Really great food, fresh pasta, rich sauces. I had the Crown pasta with carbonara sauce, it was delicious. My mom had the lasagna and it was really good. Everyone was really happy with their meals. The fresh bread is excellent, as well. Kinda of pricey, but worth it.

My husband and I were greeted at the door and promptly seated at a table for 2 with linen table clothes. The restaurant was tastefully decorated for Christmas. During our visit, the owner/manager(?) would quietly rearrange a table to provide more privacy for new customers. The meal was fantastic. Besides the items on the menu, there were daily specials. Apparently,... More

A friend recommended this restaurant. Our first day impression was great, however, when our entrees arrived, the waiter (in training, I think) dumped my husbands' whole plate in his lap knocking over a glass of expensive wine in the process. We were surprised when the bill reflected full price for both meals, no replacement glass of wine offered, and a... More

I loved my first visit so much I found a friend to go back with me. I had the daily special of Butternut Squash Soup and Lobster Ravioli. The Soup was so creamy and tasty that it is the best I have ever had. The Lobster Ravioli was very rich and tasty. They make their own noodles which is a... More

This Restaurant is not to be missed. From the time I was greeted by Donatella to the moment I walked out the door everything was perfect. My waiter Laurent was knowledgeable, helpful and fast with his service. The atmosphere is lovely with white table cloths in a small intimate setting. It is quite obvious that the local business people flock... More

I stumbled across Il Barone a few years ago and have dined there several times. Always a treat and a pleasure.

Description
We saw this place on Yelp and thought we would try yesterday. It is new but the chef was the lead chef at Antonello's, our favorite restaurant in Orange County. We were NOT disappointed! Carpaccio di Cinghiale, which was excellent. We also had the Trofie al Ragu' di Coniglio which is pasta with rabbit ragu. The pasta was homemade and the ragu was different but really flavorful. We never would have thought of rabbit as an entree, but here we would order it again!
