Excellent food, reasonably priced. Breakfast and lunch, large selection to choose from! your choice of indoor or outdoor seating.
I'm a regular seasonal visitor to the Hat Creek/Old Station area. I frequent JJ's for breakfast during my trips there. The staff are hospitable and very friendly. I always find the food is prepared fresh and tasty. I love me the hash and eggs! Oh,...and for those of you needing WiFi, they offer it for free!More
We enjoyed our lunch and breakfast. They have a small menu but what they have is yummy. They are a little slow because only two women run the place that we saw so be prepared to wait.
Nice place to stop for a bite. Open fro 8a to 2pm. Look at the menu on the wall. Order inside and eat outside.
The food was outstanding, excellent service and perfect atmosphere. We can’t wait to return! 🍕🌴😄Delightful atmosphere as well! The food was delicious, too.
We had a terrific breakfast here earlier this week, really fresh and tasty, and pride with which the owner and her staff were serving the locals and travelers alike were obvious. It was heart-warming to see how hard the owner and the rest of the...team were working to keep everyone happy when it seemed as if the entire town descended on JJ's within a 20 minute period that morning...yet, everyone served with a smile, the coffee was fresh and (most importantly) the breakfast egg scrambles were delicious. The BLT with avocado we got to go was also very tasty for lunch. We really like to patronize family own and operated businesses and JJ's didn't disappoint. You should definitely stop here when passing through or staying in the areaMore
Before heading to Lassen National Park I checked TripAdvisor for places to eat in the area. One of them was JJ’s Cafe. My wife and I arrived in the morning and had to wait about 20 minutes before being seated. I ordered a large breakfast...that consisted of eggs, sausage, hash browns, wheat toast, and orange juice. The breakfast was as good as all the reviews given for this place. Also, the service was excellent and given with a smile. Coffee was brought to my wife a couple of times without asking. Our waitress offered to tell where to park without having to pay to see McArthur-Burney Fall. That was very nice of her but we have no problem supporting our national parks. The breakfast was so good that we came back from the falls and ordered lunch (hamburgers) for our hike to Lassen Peak. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for a place to eat!More
The options for food in and around Lassen Park are very, very limited, so this place was a rare find. Thank you!
Stop in and visit Anne and Chuck, owners of JJ’s Cafe in Old Station Ca. You will be seated indoors or on the patio and presented with a menu of delights. Try the home smoked pastrami burger. Fantastic. A classic Ruben with melty Swiss and...sauerkraut.Sooo good. Maybe breakfast with a plate of homemade corn beef hash and eggs. Excellent choice! It draws a big crowd of locals and Lassen hikers alike, that’s a clue. You can’t miss this fine establishment. I wholeheartedly recommend. Tim and Marla NolanMore
Had the BLTA sangy and was pretty good like mom would make. The gal that runs is very knowledgeable about the are so ask questions ;-)
My wife and I stopped here just before 3pm on a Sunday. There are 8 tables inside that seat two to four and appear to be easily assembled for larger groups. In addition, there are several tables on back patio. Most of the tables were...occupied but there was one 2 seat table by the back door which we took. We were brought menus and had our drink orders taken. It seemed like they were really busy in the dining area as tables turned quickly. We had to ask that our table be wiped. We checked out the menu and when our drinks arrived, we placed our order. My wife ordered the mushroom swiss burger and I chose the pastrami sandwich. We both ordered fries as our side. There are not many places to get something to eat near the intersection of 89 and 44 and these are both common routes to Nevada and rural Lassen county, CA. We drive through here several times a year and always comment that we need to stop and check out the area. If JJ's keeps doing it right, they will have something pretty amazing. Based on the experience today, maybe they already have. There was a steady stream of people in and out while we were there. Our meals arrived in a timely fashion and looked delicious. We both really enjoyed our meals and noted this is a good stop for future trips.More
This is your basic cafe in the woods. I ordered the Sausage Benedict ($14). I don't know what I was thinking. Three eggs, two biscuits, and sausage topped with gravy. Oh and hash browns. I had to do some triage because I couldn't come close...to eating it all. Very tasty. Ate at 7:15 am. Didn't eat dinner until after 6:30 because I was full all day long. My buddy had the sausage scramble and he was more than satisfied too. Our server has very polite and asked without being pushy if we needed coffee refills. It is very clean too. This is a gem on the east side of Lassen Peak on CA hi-way 44.More
I stop here every time I go through this area. All the meat served here is grass feed and processed locally. This time I had a great Reuben sandwich on homemade bread. Great food all the time and consistant.
We stopped at JJ's on our way from Lassen Volcanic National Park to Shasta. There are very few places to eat along the way, so we were happy to find this cafe' had some healthy and vegetarian options on the menu. It's not a large...place - just a handful of tables inside and a few more on the patio out back. The ambiance is casual, rustic, and relaxed. They were doing a steady business but the staff was doing their best to keep up with it. We were seated right away and didn't have to wait long for our food. We ordered a veggie burger and an entree salad that had apples, pecans, chicken and feta or Gorgonzola cheese on it. The salad was served with fresh homemade bread, and there were some tempting cookies displayed on the counter as well. The food was delicious and our server was friendly and energetic. It was a perfect lunch break before we continued on our way along the Volcanic Legacy Byway.More
