It had been ages since we last went to SMA - and somehow we kept going to new places or the ones right in downtown. Four of us went: food was excellent all-round, across appetizers, entrees and desserts; wine list is much better-priced than most; service was efficient and friendly. Restaurant was busy and alive but somehow quiet enough so... More

St Mike's has wonderful food, very good service, a lovely subdued ambiance, and a noise level that encourages conversation. The menu is not same old, same old; but neither is it pushing ingredients you never heard of prepared in a manner you never heard of.

This restaurant is well established with consistently fine, fresh food, fair prices and a nice quiet atmosphere. Service is right on, not too much but waitstaff and bus staff know when and how to do their jobs. Menus feature seasonal vegetables. Nothing is too adventurous but you can always expect high quality here.

First i would like to say that if you intend to go there for lunch make sure you have a reservation otherwise you will have to sit at the bar not because they are booked in the back room but not sure what the reason was as very few people were in the back room. The food was average really... More

One of our favorite restaurants in Palo Alto. It is tucked off the main drag, but well worth a visit. Their focus is on really tasty seasonal cuisine (always have 5-6 specials) which are very creatively prepared. This time we had the asparagus salad, swordfish, and rhubarb tart. Portions are just the right size too.

This favorite is a wonderful breakfast place. The monkey pancakes are a must try but all of their dishes are flavorful and satisfying. If you haven't been here try this place..you won't be disappointed..

This was my second and likely not my last visit to St. Michael's. One of my favorite aspects of this restaurant is the different areas you can sit. The more casual bar, two different dining "rooms" , private dining as well as alfresco dining when the whether allows. The menu is just extensive enough to satisfy just about anyone without... More

St. Michael's Alley in downtown Palo Alto has two things I look for in a restaurant. First, because I go out to socialize and talk, I do not want loud music and noice. St. Michael's Alley is quiet, stylish, and comfortable. Seond, food. I can never resist their signature appetizer, a wild mushroom cake. For the first time, I ordered... More

Lovely business dinner for nine on a Thursday night in a surprisingly packed restaurant. Eclectic and deceptively small-looking menu that offers a lot of interesting, very fresh food, a staff that knows what it is doing even during a full house. Reservations are a must and the ambience is understated and elegant and comfortable.
