Excellent food at a reasonable price. Crowded though, so almost always expect to wait. Sometimes the waitress is a little amateurish and not attentive. The small house feeling makes the dining experience quaint and unique -as long as you don't get a table near the kitchen.

El Farolito has delicious authentic Mexican food at reasonable prices. The can seat a lot of people and they are always busy, but even during the Placentia Tamale Festival, they still managed to get us in and seated within 20 minutes. If you want good authentic flavorful mexican food then this is the place!

Be prepared to wait any day of the week after 6pm!! Food is good, inexpensive and very charming local home town feel. Several bottled beers available!

When we arrived on a Saturday afternoon and the place was busy with people waiting for a table, this was a good sign. We waited 20 minutes before we got our table. You could see the waiters and bus boys hustling as soon as a table was free they cleaned it up within minutes. We ordered the #53 Burrito Special... More

As usual the food was great. Generous portions and a very reasonable price. Get there early to avoid waiting

We went to the Tamale Festival and all of the stands had long lines so we decided to go to this restaurant to eat instead of waiting on the street. The service was slow but understandable because of the crowds. The Tamales were good but a little too much masa. The price and the size of the dishes were excellent

Okay, I'll admit it, I'm a carnitas snob. If it's on the menu, I'll order it. This is exactly what carnitas *should* be: tender, flaky and soft on the inside, crunchy-crisp on the outside. Paired with their delicious rice, beans, and salsas - it's heaven on a plate. Speaking of their salsas, they're home made along with the chips they... More

Went with a business group, we all ordered different dishes and we were all very pleased. The salsa is wonderful (if you don't like cilantro, use caution). Salad burrito was truly great too. Will take "reservations" 1 hour in advance, but no sooner - so plan ahead - set the alarm on your phone or something. Nice service, good parking... More

Authentic Mexican fare, favorites, and hard to resist homemade tortilla chips. Carne Asada is fired up just right here - #29 the Carne Asada plate is filling.

One of our last meals of our trip was at El Farolito in Placentia, CA. A little gem tucked away on a nondescript commercial street, upon walking in we could see how lively the place was even for a Monday night. Fresh cut salsa and chips were served upon arrival, and few menu items cost more than $10. We both... More
