I've recently moved to Redwood City and went to Hometown Pho after seeing the reviews here. It is located on Middlefield Road, amongest Mexican/Latino shops. You can park on the street, but the carpark can get full during busy hours such as dinner time. Waitstaff service was fast and friendly, and the pho and other dishes (summer rolls, rice dishes... A friend recommended the phö here. I received the lovely tripe phö. I didn't feel welcome, or comfortable here however. When I visit a restaurant near where I live, I always go in with an eye for putting the place in my rotation of restaurants and I try to begin that relationship when I enter the establishment. I usually give... More

Broth is very flavorful that sometimes if I order a rice dish I just order a side of soup as well. I normally call and pick up. Haven't actually eaten here in a few years but they seem to always have guests inside. So all the pho is great even the chicken pho. The bbq pork plate, tofu or chicken... More

Always like the spring rolls. Soup could be hotter but good. Reason I don't like going is the rude women owners. Both young and older women have no idea of how to act with customers. The younger one is always yelling at someone.not a nice place to eat in.

Went with friends to this restaurant which was nestled between Mexican Restaurants. Didn't think there was a parking lot, so it's street parking. A friend ordered the tendon pho and I sorta turned my nose up at that. BUT, when it came, I asked her if I could try a bit. It was very tender, but I didn't think it... More

The food was VERY good, even friends that don't like pho enjoyed it. The portions were big and very well priced. The service was fast, the owner is an intense short woman that may come across a little rude, but it is because she is really focused, so you better be ready to order when she comes to your table.

My husband is into pao soups. I have tried a few, yuk BUT this restaurant has my husband and me hooked. We go at least once a week. He goes for the soup, me the lettuce wraps. I love adding carrot etc, yummy. I have tried the broth from my husbands soup, and I'm picky on taste and flavor, for... More

i try and stop by now and then for lunch and they are always very crowded as the place is small. the owner does a great job of accommodating everyone and is always cheerful and pleasant. I really enjoy their fresh spring rolls and pho and their portions are a bit larger than most of the other pho spots i've... More

We came here on a Friday night. No wait, quick service. I agree with the other reviews - it was pretty middle of the road vietnamese food, but it's local and seems more authentic than some other places we've been to. We'll definitely come back here because we liked the homey atmosphere and how nice the servers were - not... More

Authentically viet pho, not one of the chains (like Pho Dong). Tastes are fresh, some bahn mi is sold, bun and such are good too. Very passible if you've got a craving and are in the neighborhood, or as a working lunch with a slight twist. Will usually fill up just about to the gills at lunch time, it's not... More
