We used Tripadvisor to find a dim sum restaurant. When we got there it was after the 3 PM deadline so we ordered other things. It was very good. We had a pidgeon, sweet/sour ribs and a beef dish. They were very good. We were a little bit confused finding the place because the name on the top of the... More

My visit to LA always include eating at Plaza in SGV, also known as 'Five Star Seafood Restaurant' if you're going to Yelp for reviews. My reco and review is for dim sum only! Before you eat: On the weekends get here before 11:30am for parking and put your name in. Be prepared to wait a bit if you show... More

Busy. Expect a 30 - 60 minute wait. Lots of dim sum carts passing by but if you don't speak Chinese, just lean over the cart and they will open up dishes so you can see. Tasty

We came here (aka New Capital) for a banquet on Sunday night. From the moment we stepped out of the elevator at the 3rd floor, we felt like we’d just arrived at a big messy, crowded Asian market place. The restaurant was packed and tables tightly placed next to each other. The noise level was high so we could not... More

Miss Shan my Chinese friend and I had business in San Gabriel and drove from LA,whilst in the city she suggested one of her favorite eating spots, apparently it has changed the name to Five Star Seafood Restaurant and can be found in a mall on the 4th Floor. We arrived a little before 1pm on a weekday and I was astonished... This place (now called Five Star Seafood Restaurant) is located on the top floor of a mall and is a relatively large Chinese restaurant. On weekends, this is a busy, noisy and crowded place for dim sum with potentially long lines to get a table. If you're looking for a quiet place to get lunch, then this is not for... More

Initially, this place started as a Sam Woo, but has gone through a couple reincarnation with the latest as 5 Star Seafood Restaurant. While the location is prime, parking sucks at San Gabriel Square due to patrons fighting for space to visit one of the numerous restaurants or 99 Ranch Market. This is one of few dim sum restaurants that... More

Wonderful early morning spot. Got there with my spouse about 9:15 a.m. and thought it was too early, but when we left an hour or so later, the place was packed and a long waiting line at the door. I like the selection; my spouse liked the stuffed eggplants and baked pork turnovers (Charzu So--phonetic). Everything was wonderful and very... More

I was introduced to this tasty delight by my partner's family that have been going to this establishment for many years. I was floored that the prices are so inexpensive and the food so scrumptious! Go for brunch but arrive early you wont regret taking the time if not only for the early morning selection.

I love getting dim sum here. In all fairness, it can get busy some days, but if you catch it on an off day, you can definitely snag a table quickly and get yourself some good dim sum. Located on the fourth floor, you have to most likely put your name down for the next available table. Once you are... More
