Excellent food and ok prices. (not cheap).Service was fast and friendly. You can buy just the pita or a full plate of most menu items.

Great value and delicious food. We ordered the combo kebab and 2x chicken kebab plates for our family of 3, and it was a ton of food with lots of protein. The turmeric rice and veggies were great too. It was a nice, clean meal,...and nothing was too greasy, which happens sometimes at restaurants. They also had some 1/2 price beers to choose from -- I had the Samuel Smith's Organic Chocolate Stout that is one of my new favorites. I'm not sure if they always have 1/2 price beers available, but it was a nice surprise. We will definitely come here again if we're ever in the area on another road trip.More
Absolutely delicious mediterranean food. Very authentic. The pizza with pita bread dial was amazing.
Love the food but the amount of plastic is insane. I'd really love to see them trade out some of the plastic, otherwise I won't be back.
Food is excellent and the cost is exceptional. You more or less serve yourself. Our only concern was my lamb plate was served 15-20 minutes before my husbands plate which was pizza. No way that should have happened. Nothing more disappointing than having to eat...separately when you arrive to dine together. We had to go get utensils and napkins. Not cool.More
We love a good gyro and a good pizza, so Petra's Gyro Pizza sounded intriguing. We gave it a try and were blown away as it was absolutely delicious. Will definitely return when we're in the area again!
We like Mediterranean food, and this was a good combination of pizza and shawarma. We had a chicken shawarma pizza - yummy! - and a tri tip shawarma sandwich - also yummy, nice spices. Simple setting. Great sauce bar. Amazingly attentive, patient and friendly service...staff.More
Excellent food! We had Greek salad with grilled lamb, rice pudding with rose water. Both are authentic and very tasty! Great price and service. The only thing I don’t like is that they use too many plastic containers, plastic forks and knives. Greek salad came...in a plastic container, I got an extra plate (paper plate, nice!) so my husband and I could share the dish. Rice pudding came in a small plastic container as well. I know maybe that’s their way to control budgets. I’ve been to a lot of restaurants offer affordable food and use ceramic plates and silverware. There must be a way to compromise the situation.More
Food/Taste/Flavor: 4/5 - we went around 11 AM and the food was surprisingly dry compared to what we had previously. Gyro pizza was a little over baked so the crust was really dry but the sun-dried tomatoes gave a nice acidity so it was great...in flavors. Lamb shawarma was a bit dry as well but the sides were great as usual. We always get sauces on the side as well. Chipotle for me and byatta for the SO Ambience: N/A - got the food to go and we eat at the second floor in the shopping plaza by Sephora Service: 5/5 - polite and quick, gave us a reasonable and accurate estimate for the wait Value for price: 4/5 - price has gone up a bit but still worth itMore
Went to lunch. Good quality and service. My only downgrade is the pita bread seemed to be store bought. Stiff pita. Jaffee's spoiled us with excellent pita. All the dips were good. Falafel was very good. Lamb was tender. Parking is always an issue
This is a very nice casual eatery with a nice outdoor space. The falafel pita is good, but a bit dry. Moderately priced and quick service. All in all, highly recommend!
We were visiting SLO and decided to try out Petra for dinner. Great menu and reasonable prices. A good option if you are looking for something casual!
What a pleasant surprise! We were looking for a place to grab a salad & pizza to go and we lucked out with Petra. Nice fresh salad and a really great supreme pizza. Everything was fresh, the pizza crust was perfect. As hubs would say,..."super good."More
We enjoyed Petra during a visit with our CalPoly student. I liked the process — order at the counter and take your number to the table of your choice. The line to order was long but moved quickly. There was an eclectic mix of patrons...from young families to college kids to elderly couples. Apparently Petra appeals to everyone! We ordered a ton of food to share so we could sample more menu items and our student would have leftovers. We ordered a chicken kebab plate, chicken and garlic pizza, and a side of falafel. The kebab plate was very tasty and the falafel was OUTSTANDING. The chicken and garlic pizza was good but the chicken shawarma on it had a very strong and distinct taste that none of us really loved on a pizza. We wouldn’t order it again. Overall, great meal at Petra!More
Had eaten here before while visiting family in San Luis. The food was always decent, but when we ate here recently, the service was ridiculously bad. We ordered a pizza and two salads, hummus, dolmas. To our surprise, the pizza came out first and then...the wait began. We waited and waited and waited. We watched as the others ate their pizza and still, no salad. So, we went inside and told them we still hadn't received our salads. It was clear that they had completely forgotten about them. They brought them out....no apologies....and we began to eat them. After about an hour since we'd arrived, we went back in and told them that we'd been there for over an hour and still hadn't received either our dolmas or hummus. There was a guy behind me who was also waiting for something he'd ordered and never received. No one apologized, comped us anything, just nothing! Really, really bad service. I won't go back.More
