This is my go to place for great Japanese food at very reasonable prices. Their huge menu offers one of the best Katsu curry plates I've had served with pickled rakyu onions and ginger on the side. Servings are large. I also love their mentaiko spaghetti and omurice. Not a very large restaurant and there's often a crowd waiting outside.

Yoshoku is best described as Japanese style Western food. My girlfriend lives for the Omurice here and the Carbonara is also delicious. The prices are fair as well.

Visited with kid and ordered kids combo and mix seafood fry. All taste was good and better than similar restaurant in Japan.

The dishes here are like family dishes from Japan. Comfort food. Japanese style omelets with gravy on top, pasta, and Kurobuta pork tonkatsu. Yum! Try something different other than the plain old teriyaki/tempura combination plates and come here!

For the price point, the food is very so so. The kids curry combo is no taste. The tapas are not worth the price. I can't taste the uni in the uni risotto. The curry fried chicken with vinegar is ver tough. Will not come back.

Western style Japanese meals are so called “Yoshoku” and Usagi is the only place featured with such cuisine in SF Bay Area. I lived more than half century and Yoshoku is my soul food. Usagi serves authentic Yoshoku items in very good quality. For example, their tartar sauce is hard to beat even by restaurants in Japan. Their hamburger steaks,... More
