Hip decor, friendly services, extended menu and well executed Ramen with many choices. Definitely our favorite.

The best ramen I've had, although it was my first time. I had the butter ramen with cilantro on top. The broth is just perfectly seasoned and the meat is sliced thin and tender as can be. There is always a crowed waiting but the wait is never much of an issue.

* Ramen noodles are never over cooked. * Broth is just right. * The food quality is very consistent * Service is well above average * Karaage fried chicken is seasoned simply but the best I've had at any local ramen restaurant. * Significantly better in all ways when compared to Dojo, Parlor, Ajisan and Yu-Raku. * Waaaay better in... Guys, you just need to try this place out once to know what I mean. The food is awesome! Presentation is perfect! It is always busy so it's not supposed to be like a quiet candle lit dinner. It's supposed to be a straight forward lunch or dinner that will not disappoint your palate. It's a couple bucks more than... More

For lunch, get there a little before they open to guarantee a table. One of the best ramen places in the SF Bay. Also, the chicken kaarage and pork fried rice sides are must haves.

Heard good reviews about this place so it was worth the drive down from San Francisco to San Mateo, come early since it get packed easily around lunch and dinner time. For appetizers,we had the Agedashi - Tofu and the Gyoza. . I am not a Ramen person at all but this place converted me into a Ramen eater so... More

Usually the japanese ramen has a very characteristic taste and you can find it in this place. the most expensive ramen in this place is around $14 (without any extra topping). The taste is really good for a reasonable price!

I don't know why there are lines out the door for some of those other places, Himawari is so much better. Simple menu, clean place, nice service, some waiting during peak times, but not unreasonable.

very authentic Japanese ramen! Ramen are usually too salty for me. But Himawari did such a good job on salt level. This is definitely the best Ramen experience I have ever had!
