One of our favorite spots for dining out in Santa Barbara. Large selection of great margaritas and mexican food (that seafood burrito is absolutely amazing), and often you'll find good deals on drinks or beer. The service is great here, which is no given thing these days. The outdoor seating is recommended as this is one of not-too-many places in... More

I went there today for lunch attracted at first by its prime location on state street and the hip atmosphere. It is the place to see and be seen, but I was soon overwhelmed by the freshness of the food: salsa, guacamole, sooo fresh... we had the braised beef tostada and the carne asada and chile relleno and they were... Husband and I were visiting Santa Barbara. Stumbled across this spot and decided to have some drinks and appetizers. Busy bar scene with nice outdoor seating. Drinks were yummy and plentiful. Food was average but overall good place to try if your not looking for anything fancy

I gave this place 5 marks because the food was delicious, but even more so because their staff was so friendly, accommodating and kind. We went in there with myself, my mom, my husband and our two children 3 and 1! It is so tough, nearly impossible really, to have an adult dinner with babes this young but we tried... More

Managed to get a table even though we had not booked. Food and drinks were great but service was inconsistent. Someone different brought out drinks and each course, and we were sat waiting for quite a while sometimes waiting to order more drinks. Not sure we ate the right food as it was almost dark sat outside as very little... More

There are plenty of places to eat Mexican food in Santa Barbara, but Sandbar tops my list when it comes to a delicious breakfast and great atmosphere. I had the best Machaca plate I have ever eaten (and I have eaten a lot of Machaca). The tortillas were freshly made and the portion size was perfect. The staff was attentive... More

My third time back with new friends and the food was great again, especially the build your own fish tacos. Enjoyed sitting outside watching all the people strolling on State St and listening to the live music from across the street.

Picked this spot for dinner and we were not disappointed. We arrived near the end of happy hour and our waiter was quick to let us know the drink specials for happy hour. The menu was full of Mexican style foods and each table was offered warm tortilla chips and fresh salsa upon seating. Staff was friendly and prompt. Also... More

There is a large outside seating area with patio heaters that was always busy, so that's a good advert in itself. We had a couple of margaritas during happy hour before we went to dinner. Although we didn't eat here, the food looked very good.

My family ate here while on our way up the coast, it was so great that we stopped on our way back down as well! We had the best shrimp and fish tacos, very decently priced by the way and the most refreshing strawberry mojito I've ever had! We also tried the queso skillet as an appetizer, very delicious!! Overall... More
