The food was just ok, but well worth the trip just due to how cool the building and surrounding area was. I had the venison sandwich, but if I went back I would try something else. Not bad, just not worth repeating that meal.

You go for the experience. A really intriguing location with historical significance. Tried the chili sampler, which was a bit bland. My wife had the regular burger, I had the bison burger.. they tasted the same. They were enormous, though. And fresh and hot. The service was California surfing dude, but very chill. A fun lunch

For me, this was a blast from the past. My parents had their wedding party there in 1963. They knew the owner very well, and my mom grew up less from a mile from there. For someone that hasn't been there before, go fr the historical value. Have lunch in a old roadhouse that has not changed in at least... More

I have no words to describe this place. It's in the middle of nowhere and it is a small wood house, it's like you were inside the movie Lord of the rings and Frida would show up at any moment. Inside it's so cozy and there is a fireplace. We didn't eat, just got some beers that were pretty good.... More

Wonderful setting, eclectic, style and excellent hearty entrees. If you're game for game dishes, you'll love the menu, there are dishes featuring Boar, Venison, Buffalo. This place if laid back and friendly, so don't expect a little guy in a tux, standing by your table to service your every need. Historic and iconic, well worth a lunch or dinner.

This place is wonderful for its history. Very special. Highly recommended because of the interior and the garden. Very friendly service and food OK. More expensive in the evening than at lunch time but the menu is also different.

We had the great fortune of stopping by the Cold Spring for lunch on one of the fin al days of a 400 mile bike tour. We managed to arrive during a "planned power outage" courtesy of the local power authority. This lack of electricity didn't slow things down at Cols Spring. They fired up an outdoor grill, had cold... More

Built in 1873 this roadside tavern is an original stage coach stop on the road from Santa Barbara to Los Olivos. Rustic menu includes chicken to wild game in season. We watched a black bear foraging while we waited between lunch and dinner hours. There is a separate building which operates as a bar and live music spot. A fun... More

On a cool morning the little cottage, surrounded by trees and a campfire smell, just puts you in the mood for a weekend adventure. Had been a while since I had visited, and happy to say their breakfast is still one of the best. Had the Green omelet, and my friend had the Santa Barbara omelet. They come with potatoes... More

The food was almost universally terrible. It came moments after ordering, making it more than clear it had been all or mostly pre-made long before we had ordered it. What wasn't mediocre was actually inedible. My sister ordered something off the specials that they were already out of at only 7:00pm, so she wound up getting boar chops instead. The... More
