We got the large sampler and a couple drinks. I've eaten Mexican food all my life - this food was really good and the service pleasant.

Great spot for a stop off the 101. Really good tacos, casadillas and traditional favorites. Nice people and a great patio. Great spot to get out of the car and have a meal and relax a little bit

A bit hidden yet right on State Street, Palapa is a great place for Mexican food, even if you are in the mood for traditional Mexican food. There is a great mix for cheesy enchiladas and chips and salsa as well as spicier more traditional fare.

This place was the rare combination of great food and inexpensive pricing. Its slightly out of the town centre and on a main road but it has a lovely outdoor seating area which was really peaceful and charming. We had the family portion of carnitas. Its like pulled pork but seriously the best we have ever had. Everything was fresh... More

I ate dinner here on a Friday night. It was lovely--siting on the patio, drinking wine, eating delicious food and listening to fantastic mariachi music. Doesn't get much better. I had the vegetarian tostada and it was excellent and included lots of fresh veggies. Service is friendly and prompt. We had a large party and they were very accommodating.

Palapa is another favorite in our town. We have had many tasty meals here over the years. Great lunch specials and happy hour specials. The menu is diverse with most of my favorites plus a wide variety of seafood. The prices and the serving sizes are very fair. One can choose several different flavored rice and types of beans as... My wife and I were deciding on a lunch place and we decided on Palapa's. At 11:15 am on a Saturday, here were already a few patrons. I've been here before and I always tell myself I should come more often. The carnitas plate was incredible, my waitress offered me a salad instead of the beans - what a great... More

Although it was a bit out of town this restaurant did not disappoint. The food was lovely and the service was very good. Our waiter even gave us icecream for dessert which was on the house. Would highly recommend for good quality mexican food at cheap prices. Note: fajitas did not come with tortilla wraps which was a surprise to... More

We stopped at Palapa for lunch while we were passing through Santa Barbara, on our way down to Los Angeles. We had a hankering for Mexican food - so glad we stopped there! It was some of the best we've ever had (and that includes being in Mexico several times)! My enchiladas were absolutely delicious; my daughter couldn't get enough... More

I ordered the "steak" torta (sandwich). It was awful. The meat was tough like shoe leather. I told the waitress and she did nothing. My husband likes the fish tacos and he talked me into coming here, but I won't be coming back.
