A really great Soul Food spot located within 1.5 milea of San Jose Mineta Airport(SJC). The staff is very real and very friendly. The decor is a very old school smoke house with wooden shingles on the outside and wood in the interior. A meal with beverage will cost $15-20. Collard Greens, hush puppies and other Soul Food essentials on... More

Really good BBQ cool building. Lots of fun! I never order chicken. But their BBQ chicken is perfect. Brisket and ribs are always fall off the bone tender.

Lillie Mae’s (House of Soul Food in Santa Clara) is going downhill. I used to like this place a lot – especially their fried chicken lunch. But the last 2 times were not so good. In October 2016 they served me a very dry piece of chicken, whereas in the past it was always tender, well cooked, and juicy. But... More

I love this place. It's real BBQ so it can be a touch pricey. But oh so freaking worth it. Ribs are perfect. And I never order chicken at places. But their BBQ chicken is amazing. Everyone needs to try this place!!! So yum

Before the comments on the BBQ let me say the fried chicken was fine other then not be allowed to get a breast when you buy the higher end combo meal, only with the meal plates can one get the breast. My thought if I'm paying a higher price why not get my choice. The staff was pleasant and helpful.... More

Took one of my work buddies who's from the UK to Lillie Mae's and he was very excited to have an authentic American experience. He thought we were in someone's house when they grabbed the beer from the fridge. Great food

We were first in line when they opened the doors at lunchtime and we ordered the chicken and waffles. You are given your drinks in jam jars and the lemonade was particularly tasty. When the food is ready they literally shout for you to come and collect it. The food was very tasty, homemade and there was plenty of it.... More

If you are looking for comfort food!!! This is a great place for lunch. Portions are good and the food is excellent. Nothing fancy just good food. Get there early for lunch or you will stand in line.
