Good food, full plate of food. The chicken was juicy and tender--excellent. Plenty of plaintain, beans and rice as well. Overall, a good experience. We were there at lunch on a Monday. The food took a little long to arrive, but was good when it got there.

We had a good meal at El Coqui. The service was good, the food was flavorful and plentiful. I don't know how authentic or not it was, but I enjoyed the meal no matter which. I had Ensalada de Pollo house salad with romaine lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, cheese, avocado, and seasoned chicken, and my husband had Picadillo (savory seasoned... More

Decided to give this place a try one late weekday night. Staff was really nice, very attentive. The food was way better than I had ever imagined. I forget what my meal was called, but it was fish/fritter type item. So so so good. They give you the option of sweet or savory plantains, and they were both pretty good.... More

I know this place serves food from Puerto Rico but, as a Cuban, it's like eating at home. The food is great with plenty of plantain options. Tonight I had the Canoa con Carne which is a sweet plantain with ground beef inside and covered with melted cheese. Yum. My usual go-to is the Avocado sandwich. My personal life philosophy... More

Every plate is so delicious! I love the Bacalaito and the aoli that comes with it. The service is excellent and they even catered my wedding which was a huge hit!

They do many excellent things here at El Coqui. But, the Cubano Sandwich. It is an epic sandwich (with Sweet Plaintains on the side). I know... Seven simple ingredients but sublime when executed perfectly. Don't miss this one. I have been harping about this for years...drooling while I write this.

The best empanadas north of Colombia has to be here! Everything about the empanadas here are as good and better than when growing up in Central America. I must visit

We love the authentic fare of this nature nice spacious downtown restaurant. The short menu makes it easy to choose, and everything is delicious. Veggie options too! Friendly service, good beer. Highly recommended.

El Coqui is lively, colorful, and fun. It is small and friendly, and serves very good Puerto Rican home-style dishes. The fried chicken thighs, served with rice and black beans and pepper sauce, and fried plantains (green or sweet).
