This place is a combination Fish Market and restaurant. We were here for the restaurant. The food was OK, and I have had much better elsewhere. I probably would not go back to this place due to the quality and the pricey meals. The atmosphere was really interesting and spotlighted the old Tuna fishing industry in San Diego. I found... More

Good place. Not everything tasted great but some of the items on the menu were good. The service was really slow .

Went in with a group of friends place was busy but got seated fast. Had a blue cheese wedge salad which was amazing. Also ordered fish and chips was a small portion but very good. Will go back.

I've been coming here for many years and have generally been satisfied. This time, though, I ordered the Clambake and every seafood item was overcooked. Dried, relatively flavorless. Not very satisfying.

Our third visit to the Fish Market. The service is always cheerful and prompt. Menu is comprehensive and there are salads and non-fish items as well as a selection of specials and traditional fish offerings. Portions are generous, the food is well prepared and presented. It's probably not the very best fish restaurant in the San Diego area, but you... More

The fresh fish counter right inside the door had us thinking about cooking right away. Once seated although not on the pier we felt like it. Really friendly server, we started with a bottle of Prosecco and asked her to get the fried Brussels sprouts going. Then came warm sourdough bread, I make my own and only occasionally get results... How can the Wilsons just keep this awesome string going for so long? We had ANOTHER great meal with the Fish Market crew. You cannot miss Garlic Cheese sourdough app, nor calamari or oysters Rockefeller. Our crew had Dean's Prawns, crab cakes, blackened tomo, and grilled yellowtail... No kidding, folks, these guys just KNOW HOW TO COOK FISH. And great... More

This is a really big restaurant by Del Mar with multiple rooms to sit by a pretty busy street. However, of you ignore the rather busy atmosphere, be prepared to have great seafood. The crab cakes were just phenomenal and accompanied with arugula just a perfect combination. The key lime pie was extraordinary. They also offer a nice selection of... More

Having crab cakes made with freshly prepped crab meat is absolutely delicious. Topping it off with perfectly seared salmon is just perfect. The key lime pie at the end was wonderful. Did I mention the local brews on tap? Overall an excellent experience. By the way: The freshly-baked sourdough bread was awesome.

We went here for lunch after attending the rabbit convention at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Very busy place, a good sign, fresh seafood market plus restaurant. Three of us had seafood entrees while one had a hamburger! Drinks were good and service helpful and attentive. One had the Louie Salad with stone crab, crab was shredded not lump as expected.... Description
Located across from the Del Mar Fairgrounds and Race Track, our third restaurant has been a San Diego North County favorite since it opened in 1981. This bustling restaurant encourages friendly and convivial dining, with the help of a comfortable oyster bar and cozy cocktail bar and lounge, and front-and-center retail market, widely known by those seeking to take home the finest in fresh fish. We also offer a private room suitable for a large party gathering.
