This is not the kind of place where you might compare Cesar salads to another restaurant. Everything on the menu is unique, beautifully prepared and beyond expectations. There are fixed menu prices for 3 plates, 4 plates or 5 plates. Three plates is a perfect...More

I have eaten at First & Oak twice this year. I think it is creative and interesting cooking, beautifully presented with excellent service. However, it is very expensive and the dishes sometimes miss. Dinner for two of us with half a bottle of wine was...More

My wife and I took another couple with us to celebrate our Friel’s birthday. The small intimate dining room was expertly managed by our server April and the food was outstanding - both flavor and presentation. It is not inexpensive, but worth every penny.

We enjoyed perhaps the best meal of our lives only rivalled by the meal we had here Wednesday. Everything was superb, the flavours were wonderful and the service was just right.

The food is imaginative and delicious. Elegant setting. The service was attentive without being in our faces. The wine list is extensive, but it did not have as many wines from the Santa Barbara area as I would have hoped for. A very expensive dinner,...More

They have a new menu for the season, and it is even better than the one before, which is saying a lot. Simply wonderful.

It was surprising to find a top class gourmet restaurant tucked away in a small inn in Solvang. The chef offer a special menu including local produce and meat/fish. The wine list includes the inn's own label but also includes many very drinkable and sensibly...More
