Cute place where they make their own wine, and have local beer. Nice grassy area in back with bocce ball courts. I went here for a party and it was fun, and casual. This place is always crowded in the evenings, so it must be good. I liked the wine.

Great find! Charming tasting room and fantastic people. Terrific wines and engaging conversation with knowledgeable staff. The wine flights are super and the cheese and pate plate was incredible. A totally awesome experience. Would be regulars if we could!

You have to do a wine tasting if you go here. The employees are so friendly and the wine is so delicious! They have several types of wine tasting, but the most they cost is $10 to try 5 different wines!

This winery is small but very charming & with character! We had the deluxe deal $10 per person and tried 5 award winning wines. They also have a menu to choose different items to go with wine. The outside of winery has tons of sitting spots. Kids got to play Bocee ball and horse shoe.

Don’t be discouraged by the red barn and small tasting room. It can be a sign of great wines to be tasted! Such is the case with this fine winery in Truckee. Owner Russ Jones knows his wines, especially Pinot Noir. As a graduate of UC Davis, he has spent much time studying and learning in Oregon, Washington, and the... More

It's quite small, but the people were fantastic! We didn't plan on any wine tasting in this area. But we had a few hours to spare and the prices was cheap! $5 or $10 wine tasting, I'm not a big dessert wine fan. So we opt of the $10 which was still cheap for wine tasting! The workers were very... My older sister and I came here in June of 2015, after a long weekend of competitive bike riding. We wanted to relax and have a good time - and thats exactly what we got! This wintery is very small and unassuming at first, but the wine is delicious and the people are great. The wine itself isn't bottled on... More

Truckee River Winery was established 25 years ago with the vision of sourcing quality grapes, bringing the fruit to Truckee in order to take advantage of the high elevation and cold temperatures to naturally cool the fermentation and slow down the barrel aging process. Thus becoming the highest and coldest winery. Our focus from the beginning has been to produce handcrafted wines with great structure and finesse. Our award winning Pinot Noir is the winemaker's pride and joy.

In 1989, Russ and Joan Jones began making wine in their 2-car garage in Sierra Meadows (a suburb of Truckee). For 9 years they made great wine for their friends and family in the area, and decided to expand. They moved the winery into a two story barn on the Truckee River, where they could make 1,000 cases, with the help of their daughter and friends. Four years ago they opened a tasting facility, so that locals and visitors of Truckee could come and enjoy their wine and hard work. They continue to become a fun, high quality winery dedicated to preserving the local environment and providing a quality product for locals and tourists alike.
