This place has been here forever, the food is great and you get a lot of it. The service is also great. You can't go wrong eating there. Beware very busy.

My husband and I have been coming here for years. It is our Sunday tradition for breakfast. Everything is good so you can't go wrong. The homemade corned beef hash is the best. I usually get the eggs benedict.

We always stop here for breakfast on our way to Lake Tahoe. They have their own parking lot and if that is full there is street parking nearby. Good selection of your normal breakfast items. Wait staff is prompt and attentive. Just a good local restaurant with decent comfort food at decent prices.

I have been lucky enough, that right, LUCKY ENOUGH to have dined at both Black Oaks Restaurants. The one in Fairfield and the one that no longer exists in Paso Robles, California. The Better Half and I had breakfast at the Black Oak in Fairfield, California. It was this morning that I sadly found out the Black Oak in Paso... More

Great breakfast, wonderful service. The Irish Benedict was fantastic, as was the fresh hot coffee. The kids had chocolate chip pancakes, which was really just a few chips sprinkled on top, but the pancakes were huge and fluffy. The orange juice tasted like fresh squeezed but I'm not sure if it was.

We have stopped at this establishment a number of times over the last few years whenever traveling to and from the Bay Area. It consistently produces great food served promptly with a smile. The staff is friendly and efficient. It is obvious that the management is superb. We will continue giving them our business.

If you prefer big breakfast I think you'll like this place but if you want quality then I think black bear diner is better. Older people like this place.

I must have driven by the Black Oak nearly 100 times over the years and finally went on my son's insistence. The place reminds me of the roadside coffee houses of years past. The food is OK and the service is good. Nothing fancy, Just good old comfort food at a decent price.

My husband and I visited this restaurant for the first time today. The building is dated and so are the decorations, however, it's a quaint little place with exceptional service. Immediately when we walked in we were greeted, seated and brought out beverages. The food arrived about 15 minutes after ordering and was hot (((a plus for me))). PROS: Pancakes... More
