We first saw this chain in St. George, Utah. Same good eats and large portions. Our service could have been better today. If you go for the first time, look for the entrance door off of Mooney. You will find that entrance more acceptable than the one off the parking lot.

We do like to eat here. This time we had a $5 off coupon. We decided to go in about 12:00PM on a Friday. Very crowded as always. We both decided to order off the big menu. Usually we order a sandwich and take home half of it. Chicken fried steak! It was served with mashed potato and green beans... More

I had seen people lining up to eat at the Black Bear Diner and finally tried it for lunch and I feel I am still eating the leftovers. That is not to mention how good the food was. I had the daily mexican special and it was to die for.

My husband and mother and I came here while driving from Sacramento to LA around 1pm on a Friday. Had been to many Black Bear Diners in the Sacramento area and expected more or less the same experience which frankly never really lived up to the reputation I've heard from others. There must be a difference in how franchisees run... More

We go to this diner a couple of times a month for lunch. The servers are attentive and responsive to special requests. The manager is there to get the place running smoothly. Whenever we had a problem with the food, he was there to fix it. The all you can eat fish and chips served on Fridays is very good,... More

A place to eat that has a lot on the menu where everyone in party can find something. The service was slow and out of 6 dining, 2 in party received part of their order wrong. The murals on the walls are very nice but the inside of restaurant needs some TLC. Overall the food was good but the service... More

Unfortunately, our past few visits have not been what we were hoping for nor expected. Wait time for drinks, well over 15minutes. Then witnessed the service & orders being delivered, right in front of us. Our orders were NOT what we requested. Eggs were not cooked to our request, nor was the potatoes. We will be better off, just staying... More

Wanted a little more than a steak house tonight, we have dined at Black Bear Dinners before and have enjoyed it. The Turkey dinner was almost more than I could eat. Great place to eat.

After being on the road for some time we needed some good comfort food and this place hit the spot. There was quite a line to get in but once we did get in we were glad we waited. Not being from the USA the size of the portions were huge, but what a great delight the waffles were.
