The tables are too small. There are too many people serving and clearing so you feel rushed -- my daughter had a dish removed before she was ready to have it taken away. They want to have the entire order at once which is annoying. My sense was that they resented having clients with food allergies. My husband loved his... More

Ink exceeded our expectations in more ways than one. Cocktails are simply amazing. The Caesar salad and fries calamari were sublime; best I ever had in my dining experiences. Brazino was fresh and tasty. Many innovative and creative dishes at this great restaurant. Even Matt Damon was dining here and looks to be enjoying their foods at the table. Don't... More

We've had the good fortune to enjoy meals prepared by world class chefs. Ink was outstanding. They serve family style, so the whole table gets to try many dishes. Especially loved the salt and charcoal potatoes, street corn, and brussel sprouts. Expensive, but we found it a good value for what we got.

When it first opened, this was one of our favorite restaurants, with innovative food, seafood focus and flavor that explodes in your mouth. We were just here for DineLA, for a 95 prix fixe menu, the portion size was fine and ingredients high quality. But the food got fussier, saucier and muddle. All the potential is there but execution didn't... More

All the dishes were excellent. Especially the octopus, ribeye, lamb and pastrami salmon. The potatoes and cabbage were average. Small portions for the price you pay but high quality. Would definitely come back.

What an incredible experience. Greeted immediately upon entering by the manager as the hostess had to step away. Promptly seated. Fun and interchangeable wait staff took care of our every need. Ordered many dishes to share among 4 family members. Everything was top notch. Loved the egg yolk gnocchi especially. Excellent cocktail menu. We dined in October and I see... More

Doing my research for molecular gastronomy places in Los Angeles, I came across the restaurant, ink. It received good reviews so I thought I’d pay a visit. Located in West Hollywood, ink. is situated on Melrose Ave in a trendy part of town. Chef Michael Voltaggio, winner of Top Chef season 6, attempts to incorporate molecular techniques in new American... More

My first time here was when they first opened--excellent meal and excellent service. We heard they had recently changed their menu, so we were excited to visit again. The service is still very good, but it is very difficult to justify the prices for a meal we could have made better at home for a fraction. Presentation was sloppy, food... More

Finally was able to get a reservation at Ink. My friends and I were seated immediately and the service was impeccable. From beginning to end, we were pampered with friendly, yet professional staff. Now for the menu...wow! So many uniquely creative dishes to choose from, we had to try at least 10! My favorites were:"Watermelon Pretending to be a Tomato"... More

Went with a couple friends and tried practically the whole menu family style. The charcoal potatos were yummy, oysters were ridiculous, egg yolk gnocchi forget about it, branzino was pretty good but I am a hard critic, the short rib was perfection. I would go back in a heartbeat

ink. is chef michael voltaggio’s first signature restaurant. alluding to the idea of permanence, ink. endeavors to create an indelible impression with flavor profiles that are inspired by the myriad of cultures that make up the city of los angeles.

Thusly, he describes the food at ink. as “modern los angeles cuisine” and aspires to create an experience that will repurpose the term “fine dining” for angelenos.

Staying in West Hollywood

Neighbourhood Profile
West Hollywood
For years, West Hollywood has been known as a hub for the LGBT communities in Los Angeles. Today it still maintains the title, but has also become the “it” neighborhood for the entertainment industry’s up-and-comers. Producers, directors, writers and aspiring actors call this area home. Known for great boutique shopping, vintage clothing stores, home décor shops and fitness studios, West Hollywood is a grid of wide boulevards and narrow residential streets. The neighborhood also has a concentration of the most avant-garde restaurants in Los Angeles (rivaled only by the burgeoning restaurant scene Downtown). A trip to the iconic Sunset Strip, with its many clubs, music venues, hotels and flashing lights won’t be forgotten.
