when we got there we were told the ONLY vegetarian things they had were guac salad and cheese quesadillas. Everything else has meat .Be aware if you are veggies.

The last few times I stopped in to have a meal with my family our food was cold . Not once, not twice but three times! my enchiladas (cheese) was not melted and my family members burritos were sloppy . The food was good but please put effort into your job next time .

I lived in Colorado Springs back in 1976 when this little place opened. I had not been there in over 15 years. An old friend kept posting pictures of their food, and the Mexican food lover I am, I promised on my recent visit we would go. It is a Small place, seats maybe 20, they do Lots of take... More

This is the best dish on the menu. Their tacos are good, and so is the cheese enchiladas with the green chili. The place is small, but the taste is Huge!!!

This restaurant has been around for years, near downtown in an old and small building. It is all about the food. Small with limited seating, to go boxes or wrapped food with paper napkins and plastic forks. If you are ok with that or just want to grab and go, the food is definitely worth the trip. The avocado pork... More

Had a great lunch with an old friend that told me I had to check out this place. I was skeptical but when I saw how long the line was I knew it had to be worth it. Ordered and are outside on a great afternoon and it was well worth the visit.

The only reason I did not rate this restaurant a 5 star is the desire not to give an impression that it is fancier than it is. This is a very small family run restaurant, with about 6 tables total. The food is very flavorful, authentic, and exactly what one would hope for when seeking true Mexican cuisine. This is... More

I really enjoy going to El Taco Rey! I usually get a combo with a taco and an enchilada with green sauce. But the red sauce is amazing too. You really can't go wrong with any dish here!

This little hole in the wall is a must for authentic Mexican food. The parking is around the corner, and there aren't many tables so plan a short walk and grabbing it to go, but this food is so worth it! The number 5, pork burrito with avocado and green chili sauce, is amazing!

Limited seating inside and a couple of tables outside. Try the combination with tamales and green chili. It was quite good with just the right amount of heat. Chips and salsa was a little disappointing. I like a bowl of salsa for dipping, not a squeeze bottle for squirting.

Thank Kevin W
