My craving for authentic traditional fried chicken has been satiated, at least for now. Another in my party shared a bite of chicken fried steak, that will be my next visit. The steak and chicken were delicious, as were the side dishes. The biscuits, the apple butter, the riced potatoes all brought back childhood memories. The staff ensures satisfaction with... More

I thought the food was excellent. However I was under the impression that this was served family style and that you could eat as much as you wanted...my mistake. The chicken was excellent, and I plan on going back.

Finally made it on a Friday night for the Chicken Fried Steak. It equaled if not bested the wonderful Fried Chicken. Add that to a relaxing setting and wonderful wait staff , and you have the perfect dining experience.

Served family style, I entire meal was fun and delicious. My wife ordered the chicken and I ordered the ham. Both were well cooked, but the chicken was exceptional. The riced potatoes and the okra casserole were very good. The gravy was exceptional. The cole slaw was delicious. The biscuits were the best I have ever had in a restaurant.... More

Great fried chicken joint in the heart of Colorado. Make sure you bring cash or check. But the rice potatoes and biscuits are to die for!

We have wanted to try this place for years and have never gotten around to it. Another couple said the same thing so we finally made it there after 30 plus years! First the atmosphere is about as cozy and homey as it gets. The thick adobe walls absorb other people's sounds and you feel like you're all alone. The... More

I had been wanting to eat here for about 2-3 years but never made reservations and finally we got lucky last minute. Not often do you see a successful restaurant in the middle of nowhere, so we were intrigued. The experience was very good, casual, unique, very interesting place. I think that the prices were acceptable with such a niche... More

Our friends love this place. Limited menu, but enough choices for most folks. Food was good. Fried chicken excellent. Our Chicken Fried Steak was over done. Dried out. Sausage gravy was great. Enjoyed the meal and service exceptional. Is a little pricey. Reservations a must.

We had heard such great things about Juniper Valley....BUT, sadly disappointed. The chicken had NO flavor as well as the potato dish and the okra dish. For the prices, we expected spectacular, juicy, chicken. It was dry. The curry soup seemed like curry-flavored water. The dessert was just regular ice cream with sauce....could have had that at home. For the... More

Management response:

We are sorry to hear that the food wasn't seasoned to your liking - we always work on that and will take it to heart. However, our prices are incredibly reasonable. Where else can you get an all you care to eat dinner that includes an appetizer and dessert - while supporting a locally owned family business - for less?... More

Just like my mom used to make it! I love the setting and the people were the best! Just outside of Colorado Springs and Highway 115

Description
Juniper Valley Ranch opened its doors in 1951 and serves authentic country dinners in a rustic adobe home. Dinners are served family style with a choice of fried chicken or baked ham (and chicken fried steak on Friday nights). Everything is made from scratch daily and meals include an appetizer and seasonal dessert.

4 Generations of the Parker family have ran the restaurant and in 2016 the establishment will celebrate its 65th year of operation. It is a favorite among locals and travelers alike and reservations are recommended by calling ahead.
