I had a hard time choosing what to order, the menu is quite small and might not be for a picky person. I was being picky that night and decided on the Kashmiri chicken, the chicken was cooked perfectly and the grit cake was interesting but not my thing, loved the kale and the coulis and the curry sauce complimented... Yummy and nice atmosphere. Drinks are good. Food is great. Have the chicken! Price is a little high but it's a nice time.

We went to Root Down for dinner as two couples. We got there early since it was starting to snow and we wanted to get ahead of the weather. As a result, we went to the bar for happy hour until our table was ready. The service at the bar was very poor. We sat there for an uncomfortably long... More

This is on my perennial top 5 in Denver list, so yes it's always solid. Went for brunch this time, lots of unique dishes that you won't find at your typical restaurant, including plenty of vegan friendly options. The fried chicken and biscuits were tasty, as was the huevos rancheros. Do yourself and favor and get the pepper blossom too... More

One of the best restaurants I can remember dining at. The jalapeño burgers were top-notch. The menu was full of creative and healthy options. If you like spice, the jalapeño burgers don't disappoint! Also, the house teas are amazing!

This is one of the casual great restaurants in the country, and Denver is so fortunate to have it. The food, the service, the ambiance were all excellent, enjoyable, and worth the thousand-mile flight to eat there. As an experienced world traveler, I highly recommend Root Down !!!

Several years after being number one in Denver has this spot hit its peak? Think so To stay on top requires hard work not complacency. Case in point was today's brunch The menu needs updating for starters. Root Down Benedict needs to be replaced. Try Irish Benedict. Anything Coffee is a staple for a good meal Your brew is just... Concourse C. The arrugula beet salad, sweet potato waffle fries, burger and a fort collins red banshee. 2nd Best meal i had while in Denver for a conference. 1st was at Root Down in the highlands. Came here with Denver colleagues and was really impressed. Exceptionally nice smart/casual atmosphere, tasteful retro deco, friendly staff and above all superb food. Everything we had - a mix of dishes that we shared, was superb, I particularly liked the devils on horseback and also the Banana creme brulee (that easily serves 2 persons). Great place.

Root Down aims to connect the neighborhood to a dining experience in the same way ingredients are connected to food. There should be a seamless bond between the elements and experience, which stimulates the senses and draws people in. Root Down serves “globally influenced seasonal cuisine,” which basically means we go where inspiration leads us. We’re not tied to one style or genre—we’re hoping to create one of our own. At Root Down we pride ourselves on striving to solve the ‘Omnivore’s Dilemma.’ We have created a dining spot where all dietary needs will be accommodated, including vegetarian, vegan, raw and gluten free; also allergies or intolerances are always handled professionally by the kitchen team. Our menu has icons reflecting this philosophy, though we always request you notify your server of specific needs. We look forward to seeing you soon!
