Enjoyed my food at Root Down DIA so much that when I returned to Denver I had to bring my colleagues to the "real thing" on W. 33rd! All agreed the food was outstanding and appreciated the attention to sustainability and local suppliers. Honest to god, you can taste the difference! The mushroom tart -- wow. The lamb sliders and... Great service and knowledgeable staff. Drinks and food are too good. I would eat here every night if I could afford it. Do yourself a favor and try the 'Pepper Blossom' cocktail and the Lamb Sliders. Absolutely amazing!

Cute little restaurant tucked away in the Highlands. Super-friendly and responsive staff. Lovely experience. The Little Black Dress was fabulous, as well as the butternut squash gnocchi. The dishes were unique and intricate pairings of flavors. You will not eat a lot, but you will enjoy every detailed bite. We had a nice girls-night-out, but could see how this could... More

Awesome good. Ate our way thru several small plates, I think that's the best way to sample the menu!

We've put off trying Root Down because we are far too disorganized to make reservations. But last Monday we were in town and called. They were no longer taking reservations but we were advised that there would be open seating the the bar, so we went. It was delicious. We sat outside and quickly learned that happy hour includes not... More

Dined at this restaurant when visiting Denver on a recent business trip. My colleague and I asked for recommendations by locals and several pointed us to this restaurant. We are extremely grateful for their recommendation. We were delighted with the incredible taste created by fresh selections using local vegetables and herbs. Very unusual and diverse dishes which would be welcomed... More

Heard a lot about this restaurant, but hadn't made a reservation before our trip to Denver. Waited about 45 minutes to an hour for a table for 3, walked the neighborhood to check out the area to pass the time. The food was delicious, very relaxed environment. One of the best breakfast burritos I have EVER had, and the portions... More

Arepa was interesting, albeit not exactly what I was looking for. Deep friend tofu, on the other hand, was freaking awesome! Texturally it was interesting, flavor & breading were both top notch. Absolutely the most memorable dish on this trip. p.s. Happy Hour 4-6:30 p.p.s. bottomless blood orange mimosa on Fri, Sat & Sun brunch.

Description
Root Down aims to connect the neighborhood to a dining experience in the same way ingredients are connected to food. There should be a seamless bond between the elements and experience, which stimulates the senses and draws people in. Root Down serves “globally influenced seasonal cuisine,” which basically means we go where inspiration leads us. We’re not tied to one style or genre—we’re hoping to create one of our own. At Root Down we pride ourselves on striving to solve the ‘Omnivore’s Dilemma.’ We have created a dining spot where all dietary needs will be accommodated, including vegetarian, vegan, raw and gluten free; also allergies or intolerances are always handled professionally by the kitchen team. Our menu has icons reflecting this philosophy, though we always request you notify your server of specific needs. We look forward to seeing you soon!
