I love Mexican food. I honestly could eat it all the time, but if the people running the place aren't nice, I'm never going back. The ladies who were serving, especially our server Alma, were wonderful, efficient and patient. Everything our large party ordered was fantastic from the pollo ranchera to the shrimp to the chicken mole. Holy mother, home... More

Visiting Denver and a friend took us out to lunch here. Very friendly reception and quick service. Salsa was made up fresh, as was the guacamole. I had chiles relleno and my wife had a combination plate, both of which were well-prepared. Nothing fancy, just a good solid Tex-Mex meal at a reasonable price. La Cueva does something special with... More

Okay Mexican food, but nothing spectacular. Stopped here on the way to see Porgy and Bess at the Aurora Fox Theater since it was so close in proximity. Ordered the chicken fajita which was somewhat bland for my taste. The bright spot was the customer service, everyone was friendly and professional.

Good food but really nothing outstanding. Clean. Pleasant atmosphere. Well stocked bar.The service was really good because of the "family business" aspect. In two words, "It'll do".

This is the Nunez family owned business since 1974. It is actually located in Aurora. The atmosphere is decorated in cheerful colors reminiscent of Mexican decor. The music piped in is Latino and pleasant. The food prepared is authentic cuisine from the beef enchiladas to the Mexican hamburgers and the spicy green salsa. Chile relleno is exquisite! Now, you cannot... More

Great Mexican food. One of my favorites in Denver for lunchtime. Chips and salsa are very good and the Mexican Hamburger is the best I've ever had. Green chili is toasty, in a good way. Great family owned business that has had the same staff for a long time. Always great service and very welcoming when you arrive. Keep up... More

Excited to take our out of town guests for our recommendation for great Colorado Mex! La Cueva, please take this constructively. Our experience last night was very disappointing. We made a reservation, but the table was not ready... The service was only so, so (not rude, just not the energy and excitement that helped build our opinion). The $$ rating... More

I'm sorry you had this experience. I wish you would have said something so we could have made it right for you. Interesting place. Loved the server, Patricia, couldn't have been more helpful or nicer. The salsa is pretty good. The enchiladas were just gooey. Horrible texture. Had a bean burrito and bean tostado, both were decent. The Queso was very good but very bland. For the record, the Queso appetizer is huge! The homemade flour tortillas were good but not the...
