This is a nice place to eat. It has atmosphere and great food. It's a little upscale, but has a reasonably priced lunch. I had their 50 year Tradition Chicken and Dumplings'. It was EXCELLENT! I recommend this place.

We had intended to go to a sports bar restaurant for dinner but we quickly discovered there were long waits due to the weekend crowd coming to see the fall foliage. So we just started wandering down Main Street looking for someplace we could get into. It had been my thought that the closer we got to the Durango &... More

Because Durango is such a bustling place, it was nice to be able to sit outside in the nice weather & watch the hustle & bustle going on in town. There are several nice shops located close by. The wait staff was friendly and efficient.

I had dinner here on my own so sat in the bar area. I had the dinner special and it was great. I really enjoyed it and the wait staff were very pleasant.

Our server Rachel was excellent and engaging. The menu was interesting and the food was great. We had such a wonderful experience that we returned the next night when Rachel was bartending and ate at the bar. Nothing bad on the menu as we sampled most of it. Next time in Durango we will be back!

We have eaten here many times over the years. The food used to be special. The location is perfect for train buffs. You can eat on two different patios, in the main dining room that has lots of windows (my favorite), in the overflow dining room, or there are tables in the bar. The food is good and the hamburgers... More

The service was terrific and be sure to try the Fried Beets on the starter menu. Farm to table beets you will remember days after. The salads have just the right amount of dressing and the desert was season inspired. The Palace added to a great evening with friends!

I had the Chicken salad sandwich and my husband had the fish sandwich, both were very good. Even though we went there on a Friday evening, we didn't need a reservation. It is right next to the Durango/Silverton Train Station

We were there on a Thursday night with a large group. The waitresses were attentive and kept refilling the water and drinks. Everyone who had the trout thought it was a very generous sized serving and delicious. My husband's prime rib was also a generous size with little fat. The prices seemed very reasonable for the amount and quality of... More

Description
The Palace Restaurant features classic American cuisine. Steaks, seafood, pasta, great sauces, homemade breads and desserts. You can elect to dine in our family-friendly Victorian tavern and order from our moderately priced tavern menu or sit in our elegant dining room and order from our fine dining menu. On our summertime patio, both menus are available. Our restaurant is located in a circa-1880 building and is styled with beautiful Victorian furnishings, such as dark woods and Tiffany-style lamps. Our dining room fire place makes for a romantic evening out in the winter and our tavern and patio are "local favorites." From casual to elegant, we provide a very special dining room experience, with great, classic food and a friendly staff. Please join us!
