The food here is pretty decent. Suggestion...if a certain waitress asks you if you like orange while ordering a margarita...just say no. It's her special and it's gonna cost you. Most likely she doesn't still work there but just FYI. other than that...we really enjoy going here.

And have a fine , authentic Mexican meal at this open-all-day atmospheric "joint". Loved the quac, the"top shelf" Margs and the rice and beans that accompanied the mains. The best is how unexpected this fun spot arises off the side of the highway and a service station.

This restaurant is in a building that also houses a gas station/convenience store and a vacant space. Ample parking. We were pleasantly greeted and quickly seated. Menu is easy to read, mainly Mexican dishes. Wait staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes. Our food was delivered quickly, was hot and well plated. Dining room and restrooms were clean. Seating... More

We'd just left Denver and needed fuel so when we saw the combo of fuel and Mexican food we stopped. It seemed to be only 1 waitress, greeter, bartender combination and even though she seemed a little flighty because of it I was surprised that we still had good service. Our food was very good. The worst part of the... More

We stopped here because of all the great Trip Advisor reviews! We have to agree with all the great reviews. The food was great, average portions, and fair price. I highly recommend!!

We have come to this restaurant for years now but I have never wrote a review. The new owner has maintained the food quality which is always good. The prices have changed and are more expensive than it was. We do not go to Carrieta Vieja as often as we used to.

Just looking at the place you wouldn't think it was as great as it is. Sharing space with the gas station means nothing when you have great food, a warm atmosphere, and friendly staff. I recommend this to others and will be returning. I recommend the large combo plates!

Tried the molcajete the first time here, and it was very tasty. My group had margaritas which they claimed were good. I stuck with beer. The kids enjoyed the sopapillas of course.

Well prepared mexican food- nothing fancy- but excellent tasting and very prompt and efficient service. All of the combination plates came out most satisfying.

My fiancé and I were out in Colorado for a week and we stayed in this very dope Bed & Breakfast in Morrison. Upon checking in the care taker recommended this restaurant that also shares the same location with a gas station. Typically I would be very weary of places like that back in my hometown of Baltimore. We weren't... More
