This is the second time we have enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner at The Fort. Reservations are a must! We arrived about an hour early but they seated us within 15 minutes. It is more fun to go if you are a bit dressy. Lots of families and large gatherings at Thanksgiving. You can order from the menu too, which is nice... More

My husband and I visited The Fort on a recommendation from a coworker that used to live in the Denver area, and it was worth it for just the view alone. Admittedly, it's not the best fine dining experience we've had, but the hostess team was pleasant and our waiter, Eric, was great! He's been there for 12 years and... More

We go here every year for a birthday celebration and it never disappoints. The food is unique and paired professionally and the service is consistently well above par with other establishments. Staff are well trained, attentive and practice perfect etiquette, which seems hard to come by. And the views and ambience are incredibly unique.

This restaurant takes a while to get to from Denver, but well worth the time and effort. We had steak, bison, elk and quail. All items were fresh, tasty and served by an excellent staff. Bring your big wallet, as. pat entrees we ordered were just under $40. Highly recommend!

Beautiful setting, nice servers, wild game. The food is good, our server made some recommendations that we appreciated. We had an appetizer sampler (didn't eat everything) the prickly pear margarita was not for us. Friend had the game plate, elk was tough. My bison steak was good. Desserts are excellent. Don't think I would return but was an interesting experience.

Came here for your 35th wedding anniversary with family and friends. Dinner was fantastic! From the signature drinks, appetizers, main course, and deserts everything was perfect and enjoyed by all. A destination restaurant as there is little around (red rocks excepted). Good wild game and buffalo on menu. If you want beef and the rustic ambiance is not critical, I would spend my dollars at Fogo in Denver. Without wine, we spent over$50 pp.

I'm the kind of person who likes to try local foods I couldn't find in my neck of the woods. When friends learned I was headed out west they dared me to try "Rocky Mountain Oysters" because that's something you don't see on the menu in New England. The friends I was visiting in Colorado said we had to go... More

Description
Situated in the Red Rocks country 17 miles southwest of Denver on Hwy 285, The Fort is a true replica of Bent's Fort, the first American community west of the Missississippi & rendezvous of Kit Carson & other "Mountain Men". The nine dining rooms, seating 350, are white plastered over adobe. Unusual but hearty dishes, typical of the early West, are provided from open grills. Waugh!
