Been there twice, Great burgers and really like their homemade Mayo. Mostly generated toward the hippy / yuppie crowd.

We had an ok lunch here. The main problem was that although I ordered a grilled cheese BLT and my husband ordered a sandwich and specifically asked to add cheese, neither sandwich came with cheese. The waitress just shook her head with a small smile and said, "Oh Dennis." Um? If Dennis can't make the food that's ordered, maybe it's... More

Our group of six enjoyed an outstanding dinner at Shallots. Robert was our server and attended to our every need. We had an excellent French Viognier which complemented Don's seafood specials very well. With the demise of Laughing Ladies, Shallots is now the finest reataurant in Salida!

I wanted to find a place that was romantic for a Saturday night dinner during a weekend in Salida. We chose this place because it had gotten fairly good reviews. Overall, I liked the atmosphere (exposed brick walls, nice linen tablecloths, nice lighting). Also, our waitress was attentive and entertaining. She made the experience a memorable one. However, I was... More

Everything was perfect. The place was nearly empty but the other places we looked at were either too full, too noisy or closed so we took a chance. It was great for a romantic evening, soft music, delicious food perfectly prepared and presented. the waiter was very attentive and made good suggestions and brought us beer samples to find the... I visited Shallots on a recommendation from the Head Chef at Mount Princeton, Matt Roberts who is a long time friend of Don (Owner of Shallots). I really enjoyed the curry with chicken and the German chocolate cake! Cool vibe at the bar and right in the heart of downtown Salida! I highly recommend this to anyone local or out... More

There were four of us that had decided to give this place a try during a visit to Salida. The owner sat and chatted with us for a while, which was lovely. But our server disappeared many times for a little too long, and we were one of two tables. The bottle of white wine we ordered was "not cold"... More

OMG! I started off with a cup of awesomeness. Miso ramen pork vegetable soup. Absolutely the best ever. It was perfect, right down to the bread. Mine came with homemade potato chips. Hot and Crisp.! My husband had a steak sandwich that the flavors were fantastic. Beans were also great.

We thought we would try this restaurant for a special occasion. We didn't want to wait an hour so we sat at a long wine type bar, but it was not at the bar. It took so long to get noticed, so long to get a drink, so long to place the order, so long to receive the order, ...... More
