Like most we rode the train from Durango to Silverton for the day. We decided to eat at The Shady Lady at the invitation from a delightful lady on the front porch of this warm, friendly, historic building/restaurant. Service was excellent and quick, We decided on the roast beef lunch special. It was excellent. We had plenty of time to... More

We took the train from Durango to Silverton and needed to get something to eat. We walk by the Shady Lady restaurant and an elderly lady invited us in saying the food was great. We went inside and they seated us immediately. We were waited on right away and brought our drinks within minutes. We both had the daily special... More

We stopped here for lunch while riding the train. Food was average sandwiches and fries. Bathrooms were tight. Was kind of a neat old building.

Stopped in the Shady Lady today for lunch with my wife and two kids (8 & 10) after riding the train to Silverton. We waited a long time to place our order, while several tables who were seated after us ordered and received their food. Even after we ordered, it took forever to get our food. The food was mediocre... More

Stopped at the Shady Lady Restaurant while stopped in Silverton riding the train. It was decent. Reasonably clean, seated quickly. Service was a little slow. The food was average. Not a bad experience, not great.

Consider yourself a foodie? Eat elsewhere. The food here had the flavor profile of food my Grandmothers in Ohio made when I was a child. The hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and corn isn't highly seasoned and that's fine with me. They have salt and pepper on the table, season the food to your taste. The staff was friendly,... Took the train from Durango to Silverton. The staff was friendly but the food seemed like it was prepared from frozen and or deep fried. Nothing fresh. Poor taste and quality. Dining area in desperate need of refreshing. Dead flies in the windows and drapes.

Stopped for something to eat after the train ride up to Silverton. The service is friendly and fast. I tried the house special, open face roast beaf and gravy sandwich with corn and mashed potatoes. Not fancy, but reminded me of a meal I had on many occasions growing up. I would recommend this restaurant for a quick meal.

What a great place to eat. It had the atmosphere of the time it was a brothel. It had a bar but I ate at a table with a red checkered table cloth. The food was like homecooking. The price was reasonable. The waitress made sure our sodas were refilled. Good service. The lady on the front porch was calling... More

The food was fantastic and the service was terrific. Fast food and tastes amazing the chili is outstanding and the waitress said it is made every morning and it certainly tasted like it. Fun atmosphere and fun staff will definitely be back for more :)
