Very nice lunch, in a lovely setting, bit pricy tho. But would go again, staff friendly. I can recommend the haddock fish cakes. Four of us Went, we h a d a lovely walk around the canal after. Primrose.

We had a visit to The Barge Inn over the Bank Holiday weekend. Really cosy pub offering a wide range of food in a great setting. Service was a little slow, but it was a very busy Good Friday afternoon, so this is to be expected. Great to sit and watch the world (or a barge!) pass by.

Had lunch at the Barge Inn yesterday. The beer garden was packed with walkers and cyclists which was nice to see. Lovely setting along the canal. Inside is huge! Lots of massive tables- would be ideal for a big group. Staff were very friendly. Food was ok but not great. I did hear a couple complain about the lukewarm temperature... More

Been here many times before, but the wait for food seems to gets longer. However this is such a busy place due to its great location and they are obviously struggling to cope. We must have waited about 45 minutes for our order to arrive and with two hungry young grandsons, that was just too long. The food was OK,... More

Stopped off here as staring at the Devizes Camping & Caravanning Club Site. Lovely walk along the canal and stopped for a few drinks and food. Friendly staff, lovely fresh hot food served here. Great location in the canal, just bear in mind it does get extremely busy on a sunny weekend. A visit here is a MUST!!

Lady who served us at the bar seemed to be having an off day and was rather miserable! Food is average typical pub grub overpriced for what you get but a lovely garden and view in the sunshine!

Ate here with friends on a fairly quiet Monday evening but it was warm and welcoming. Friendly service and good choice on the menu for meat eaters, vegetarians or fish eaters. Delicious desserts (the chocolate torte and the frangipane tart were divine). Reasonably priced. Went again a few days later when it was much busier and the standard of service... More

Lovely location, brilliant to sit alongside the canal in this nice weather but food lets you down. Our group picked pie of the day, chicken salad, ciabatta with fries, and ham,egg and chips. Where do you start; pie was served with mash & veg, looked reasonable but at £12? Chicken salad was lettuce, warm brie, bits of chorizo with a... More

Went to the Barge in for a family meal. Nice location but I thought the food was average at best. The pie I had was overcooked with hard pastry and the potatoes that came with it were very thin on the ground. I counted 6 x small 1cm cubes of garlic roast potatoes!
