We've been fans of the Daniel Packer Inn ( or the D.P.I. as locals call it) since moving to this part of the state 14 years ago. This is a restored colonial Inn with fireplaces, wood beams, 12 on 12 windows - a very authentic New England house, that has never disappointed us. During the summer, we never go to... More

This restaurant has a small little pub downstairs - great for a drink. They have live music sometimes which adds an extra touch. The bartender Bobby is a great asset to the team and delivers excellent customer service!

After all the reviews, my husband and I were excited. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre. It did not live up to the hype. Charming and historical, for sure. They offer live music in the basement which is pretty cool.

My wife, Heather and I dined at the "DPI" on Friday the 13th. I am from the area and remember the place as"The Place" in Mystic. We had reservations. When we arrived we went through the bar. It was packed. My wife heard the bartender say, "We're full! Go home!". We were seated right away and as I looked at... More

We've eaten here numerous times and although we like the restaurant, our favorite place is the pub. We were there last night, it's very cozy especially with the lovely fireplace. We got there around 4:30, they don't serve food until 5:00, but it gives you time to relax and have a drink first. The food was delicious, my husband had... More

Get there early! We went to the pub for dinner and were seated right away for 5:30 dinner on a Friday. There was NEVER an empty table. Food was sometimes overlooked or lukewarm in temp. Most of our food we would give a C+ to B- we had fish and chips, scallops dish, ahi tuna app, mussels. Double chocolate cake.... More

Excellent skewered shrimp & soup on a chilly day. Dining rooms all have fireplaces also in this historic building near the marinas on Groton side of Mystic!

Have been visiting the tavern for many years. Never disappointed. Service and food always excellent. Love to sit at the bar and chat with the "locals" and travelers. Highly recommend this historical inne for dinner or drinks when in Mystic.

My husband and I ate downstairs in the tavern. We loved the warm fireplace and the ambience of the room. There were typical New England choices on the menu as well as some quite unique choices. I enjoy unique so I ordered two appetizers, rather than an entrée. They both were delicious, especially the pear salad. Even though the tavern... More

Great food, charming atmosphere. Loved the sense of history. Friendly staff. A little off the beaten track but well worth the effort.
