We all ordered the prix fix lunch, the trout was delicate over the sautéed spinach, perfectly seasoned, and the short rib ravioli was cooked to perfection, every bite was a mouth full of deliciousness. Our server Sathiya made our "sisters day out" very enjoyable. Can't wait to go back!

Calling Union League a cafe is a misnomer. From the welcoming fireplace, to the stained glass upper windows, onto the impeccable napery and European service, it is a destination restaurant. My curried lobster (tail and claws) over a fruited basmati rice was exceptional while two others chose a Peking Duck presentation never served in Hong Kong. Our fourth diner went... More

This is an excellent restaurant with a superb wine list and sophisticated menu. Reservations do seem appropriate as the evening we went it was full. Lovely staff that is attentive without being overbearing. Martinis were dry and they had the specialty Bourbon we like. While expensive, this is good value and perfect for special evenings.

Union League Café has been one of our favorite restaurants in New Haven for quite a while, and their Valentine's Day dinner was wonderful. There were three seatings and a prix fixe menu. We had an earlier seating and got stuck in traffic. Worried about missing our reservation, we called and were told with great calm that there was no... More

Dining here for us was two-fold. We were going to see Carmina Burana being performed live at Woolsey Hall and we also had an early Valentine's Day. We had reservations for 5:30pm and were taken in on time. The space started to fill very quickly after that. We were greeted by our waiter and given some cheesy garlic puffs that... More

We have only had great food and great service in nearly 20 years! It is our special spot. The staff always treats everyone beautiful, and the food is even tastier than it looks - that says a lot because the plating is perfect. My daughter's wedding was held there, and the staff's treatment of two grandmothers in wheelchairs was seamless.

Great, romantic spot to spend a Saturday night having dinner. Having been here before my wife was very pleased with her surprise early Valentine Dinner. True to form the Union League delivered a fantastic dinner of shellfish starter followed by an amazing foie gras terrine for myself, escargot for my wife. We paired our entrees of duck and filet with... More

This appears to be a very nice restaurant and the service was okay. One of our chicken meals was not cooked properly and appeared raw. We told our waiter, who didn't say or do anything about it. The raw part was left uneaten. Really wish the manager would have stopped by to apologize. We will not be returning.

Went for a business dinner and I'm positively surprised about the ambiance and the quality overall. Price is more on the upper level but still acceptable for what you get.
