Sandy Hook Diner is the place we stop as we travel to New England. It's easy on/off 84. A gas station is nearby. The food is incredible. Countless selections. There are so many menu items that it's difficult to select: Eggnog French Toast. Pineapple pancakes. Pumpkin pancakes... and so much more. There is something for everyone! Gluten free options and... You will run into the local crowd here, no pretense-great service. New owner is making some nice changes while also keeping favorite menu items available. Onion Rings a favorite, also have salads and tuna for the healthy eater. Family friendly - Cash only!

This was our first visit here. The diner is a small, old-fadhioned style diner. We had a very enjoyable breakfast. They serve eggs, omelettes, oatmeal, pancakes, French toast, specials, sides, and beverages. We ordered a full stack of pancakes (very large pancakes), bowl of oatmeal with fresh strawberries, and an omelette(egg beaters with mushroom and cheddar cheese). Our toddler granddaughter shared... We go here frequently for breakfast dates. All of the food is good, not healthy, but good. It is a much better choice than Blue Colostomy up the hill. My only negative is that if you don't take anything but cash, at least have an ATM.

Love this place! Food and service are great and it's the friendliest group of folks you would ever want to meet! We go there often and have never gotten a bad meal. Plus I am gluten free and they have gluten free options.

We go there often because the staff is like seeing friends from the old neighborhood. The eggs are fresh and served hot. Try the hash browns. Lots of specials.

Great old time diner -- the building is really something. I am told that if they remodel the whole thing needs to be brought up to code. Sagging floors, crooked walls and a great breakfast - see photo.

We moved to town a few months ago and finally decided to try this place. We loved it! Service is excellent, food was wonderful, and the atmosphere is great. It's old and nostalgic and we loved it. Small but family friendly and there are a ton of locals (almost everyone knew their waitress's name. The pancakes were the best we... More

The Sandy Hook Diner has a fine menu for both breakfast and lunch, but for me it's always been a breakfast favorite! I've been eating breakfast at this diner on and off for over 30 years, and while ownership has changed a couple times in those 3 decades, the atmosphere, quality of service and food has remained expertly prepared and... Always eat here on Friday mornings - service is always warm & friendly, Coffee is hot and plentiful, and the meal is always satisfying and hot. Wide variety of choices. Homey and quaint atmosphere and a true classic - families more than welcome.
