Stopped here with my son after visiting micro-breweries in the area. Started with steamers. Whole belly clams lived up to their stellar reviews. My son couldn't finish all of the fish & chips. Good beer selection. Nice bar. Great atmosphere. We'll be back.

good food ,and always a bit eccentric .The staff is great ,and the fish is always good. Not a big fan of whole belly clams ,despite growing up on the cape ,but for fried food you cant get better in the area.

Ordered a seafood platter to go. It was excellent. We went to a local park and had a picnic. The whole belly clams were as good or better than any we've had. The portion was large enough for the two of us with some left over.

If you can tolerate fried food, SAMs the place to try. Only place I can recommend for whole belly clams. Other fried options are good as well. They do supply a lot of French fries under your fried choice so it looks bigger than it really is. Good spot for a quick bit.

Great place! Went for drinks and lunch after a day at little league baseball. Food was delicious! Outside deck was great to sit and enjoy it all.

My husband had been wanting to try this restaurant for awhile so we headed there for lunch yesterday. Place was pretty packed for a Sunday. Seems like a popular spot for bikers traveling through the state. We didn't have alot of time so we decided to split a few appetizers. We started with the clam chowder which was rich and... More

Food was decent. Very overpriced with small portions. Kind of a bar like atmosphere. Staff was friendly though.

If you are craving some if the very best fried clams whole belly or strips look no further. SAM's has outstanding clams. Located in Southington, Conn you don't even need to travel to the shoreline.

While visiting our son, we had lunch at Sam the Clam and were not disappointed by the atmosphere, the amount of food, or the service. Try the lobster roll or seafood basket. Both were excellent.

I have been to this restaurant in the past, and kind of knew what to expect: fried seafood, especially clams, oysters, and other New England favorites. Decor kind of funky, not the cleanest of places, but plenty of character so usually worth a visit. Sadly, my wife, son and I waited, with menus in hand on the outdoor deck for... More
