This was only the third time out to eat since C19 started. The Tudor Rose felt covid safe. I had booked and we were to our tables. Clear signage around about masks etc. Food was great. We just had a light lunch but very reasonably priced compared to other local lunch venues and with better service. Friendly staff who were attentive and timely. No waiting ages for the bill when asked. Nice traditional pub. We will be back.

We came to the tudor rose for boxing day I booked my family in as a 13 but only 12 came which wasnt a problem at all to the staff, our food was delicious, there was a buffet section and carvery to choose from which is alot of food for what we paid we all had different meats and really enjoyed them, a big selection and vegetables which was good for the kids as mine is quite fussy but she tried and liked most of them and we also got a desert which was yummy. We was very well looked after by the staff checking we was ok and had everything we needed! Me and my family will be returning again. A big thank you to the staff for taking time out from family to make sure my family had a lovely day on boxing day! X

We recently enjoyed an evening meal at the Tudor Rose. We were seated in one of the "booth's" which was very comfortable. We ordered our main courses which came in good time although there was a slight delay before the vegetables arrived. We ordered the steak suet pudding and lamb shank. Both dishes were served piping hot and were very tasty. For desserts we chose the salted caramel cheese cake and sticky toffee pudding. The sticky toffee pudding was nice but was more like a treacle sponge. The cheese cake was a bit disappointing as the texture was more like a mousse and it did not have very much flavour. The service was polite and friendly throughout. We enjoyed our meal and would return.

We visited the pub for my nephew's 16th birthday on Saturday, 14th March. We ordered olives and breads to start with. Side plates were placed in a pile on the table and we passed them around. We were horrified to find a mouldy substance on top of one of the plates and a couple of other plates that were not completely clean either. It put us off but as it was a birthday celebration we stayed. In hindsight I wish we had left the restaurant as it left us all with a bad feeling regarding our meals. In these uncertain times regarding health concerns with Covid 19 it was good to see that the pub had taken steps to insert sanitizer dispensers at the entance of the pub. However this seems pointless if they are not following this through by checking the cleanliness of plates, utensils and eating areas. I have eaten at the Tudor Rose many times before and never had any complaints so I was very disappointed. However, after tonight I am certain I won't be returning.

Really unimpressed. Would not recommend. Food was expensive but not good quality. Customer service was abrasive and slow. Spent £45 on what was meant to be a quick bite for lunch that took an hour and a half and was not good food when it arrived after being advised by the staff to not order from the cheaper deals menu as apparently it was lower quality (? bizarre?). Track and trace details only taken for one customer out of 5 or 6 groups who came in whilst we were there. Huge menu (not in a good way) and the food reflects it. Won't be going back.

Went for a sunday lunch upstairs in the carvery. The chef was great he made us laugh and made sure we had plenty to eat. Apparently a maximum of 12 Yorkshire puddings what a star. We were made to feel so welcome by all the staff I can't wait to go back. No more cooking Sunday roasts for me. 5 stars well done the owner.

29 of us were here to celebrate uncle Micks 60th birthday. Ranging from 2 to 69 everyone was catered for perfectly, the food was delicious, I had the steak and ale pudding which was beautiful and the roasts looked beautiful, you won’t go hungry, the portions are good. Fabulous Banoffee Pie too. Would highly recommend and definitely return,

I’m really disappointed with the Tudor Rose tonight unfortunately. I won’t be returning and I normally love it here. I ordered my food and it was not good at all so I didn’t eat it and complained. It still appeared on the bill so I asked to take it off. He just said that it was because they use salt and then just stood there. Uncomfortable and not very customer focused. No one likes to pay for bad food.. maybe put yourself in the shoes of the customer and treat them how you would expect to be treated when you dine out.

The place was heaving at lunch time on a Wednesday. Food coming out looked huge and when ours came out it didn't disappoint. The portions are massive. The food tasted divine and it was really reasonably priced. Lovely pub The staff couldn't do enough for us. They even knew about one of our special diets and changed the recipe to work for her. Really great place

Popped in for lunch today and was very impressed with the 'covid' regime and the ususal welcome from the staff. Ordered Prawn and Chirizo starters and they were evenr better than 2 weeks ago. Having asked the question re the recipe was informed that the chef(s) have improved it, and it showed, very nice!! Wont need the menu next time i feel.

Drinks are eyewateringly expensive, at over £5 for a pint for a simple lager. Food took a long time to arrive despite the dining room feeling fairly empty. When the food did arrive an unkept woman who stank of cigarettes and had nicotine stained fingers placed our food down, with her dirty fingers and long nails gripping onto our plates, leaving dirty fingerprints on the plates. We later overheard her claiming to be a manager? Whoever decided to reopen a pub in the start of a recession clearly needs their head examining. And to charge London prices for a pint of lager is unforgivable and a fine example of greed! A deeply disappointing experience and not something I will subjecting myself to again.

It was easy to book and amend on the phone and I changed the booking more than once, they happily accommodated these changes. It was a Tuesday night so it wasn't very busy. Our table was a little cramped, 5 seated on a round table with one of the seats impeding access to the rest of the conservatory (and therefore getting knocked as people passed behind it) and a table leg in the middle of the chair. There were plenty of empty tables, perhaps I should have requested a move, I am sure they would have been ok with that had I asked. I was a little shocked at the prices, it had been a while since I have eaten here and prices for meals that I had had before had risen significantly but I guess that's the same everywhere nowadays. Two of us had the linguine and this was very nice, absolutely huge portions that we could not eat but they offered a takeaway box which we declined. One of us had the meat pudding which arrived with no vegatables. We asked if it came with any and was told quite clealry that it did not. About 5 minutes later after the meal had been started, a separate dish of veg turned up!! We also had the steakburger which should have been served with pickles but they had run out! My daughter was disappointed as she loves them and would not have ordered that meal had we been told that at the time of ordering rather then when it was served. The burger didn't taste great and more than half was wasted. I don't think a restaurant should ever run out of ingredients! We asked for sauces at the time the meals were served but they took quite a long time to arrive and required me to get up and go to the bar to remind them. These should be ready to serve with the meal, not some time after. The mixed grill was a large meal but lacked the 4oz burger that was meant to be included but by the time I had eaten my way down the stack of meat, it was too late to point this out. Given that this was a birthday meal, I decided not to complain but instead thought I'd write this review. In summary, the experience was pretty disappointing and expensive for, in the main, non exceptional food. I don't think I'd hurry back or recommened it to anyone other than to say, food was ok but expensive, nothing special. Staff were polite and friendly and the venue was clean and warm.

We were looking forward to the opening of The Tudor Rose it was one of our favourite local pubs. We arrived and were taken to our table and given a menu. We were then told that most of the items were unavailable. Our daughter then ordered steak to be told sorry we don’t have that either!!!! We all ended up ordering pizza. The pizza menu says hand stretched pizza!!! Well it’s not as we saw chef go to the freezer and bring out three frozen perfectly round bases. The pizza was awful, one burnt and one all soggy. We told the waitress our food was awful and she replied yes the Chef has had complaints all night. I appreciate it was opening night but no one knew what they were doing. There was no greeting for it being opening night and we left feeling so disappointed with everything. We don’t really want to relive that experience so unfortunately will never go back.

We had heard that the " Tudor Rose " was under new management and thought we would give it a try as it was mine and my brother-in laws birthday. Our table was booked for 2pm and we got there for 1.45, The staff member set a table up for us and asked if we wanted a drink, The drinks came and that was it for 20 minutes, We asked for the menus and sat for at another 20 minutes waiting for somebody to come and serve us. The lunch came and then 10-15 minutes later the veg turned up pipping hot where they had taken them out a microwave but all the veg was undercooked they were horrible, my husband who eats anything had ordered the cauliflower cheese and he could not eat it as it was raw, I asked a waitress if I could have some Mint Sauce she said she would get it for me the next thing we see her walking across the car park and driving off she must of been going to the supermarket to buy it, then the puddings my sister was the only one to order pudding I do not think there is a lot of choice, she ordered Apple pie and Custard it was cold and the custard was lumpy. The dinner was not too bad apart from the veg but in all this time and believe me we waited along time for everything we was not asked if we wanted another drink or was everything okay, the service was terrible. and would not visit again.

The Tudor Rose has a good reputation, and therefore we went as a group of 9 for a birthday celebration. Unfortunately when our sharing starter came the side plates were dumped on the table for us to hand out.. I notice my plate was not very clean and I wiped with a napkin, but one of the other guests actually had mould on the plate. We returned all the plates and we got an apology, But this did give the group a bad feeling and completely put us off our meal.. if it was not a birthday celebration we would have left the restaurant immediately. In general the main meals were ok, but I think the start had put us off our meals, and the fish was not great. Very disappointed at the cleanliness of the plates, and with the corona virus you would think extra effort would be taken.
